Very nice. In Germany they're known as "Hundeknochen" (dog bone) because of the shape of the front. Photographed a 1974 Ford Escort RS 2000 once.

It's a very pleasing style. I took my driving lessons & test in a Mk1 Escort. It had a buttery-smooth clutch & fantastic gear change, which is why it was popular with driving schools.
