You have $20,000 USD (or $22,000 CDN) and you can buy any car ever built that lands in that price range, what would it be? Why? and show proof you can buy it for that price.

Not this one because it's an auto. But you can find them nice for well under 20K
Why? Well, I'm a Mazda fan and I think this is the most beautiful car they've ever made and one of the best looking cars to ever come out of Japan. I love the fact that it's so purpose built and was the best it could be from the small car manufacture. Has it go flaws? Hell yes, but I don't give a crap. It's one of the only times I'll put blinders on and ignore a cars warts.

3's my ass
A stock 3,300 lbs. STI from where that engine came could hit 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. A stock M3 can hit 60 in 4.1.
Let's look at weight to power ratios:
Stock STI: 291 hp, 3,300 lbs. -- 11.3 pounds/hp
Stock M3: 414 hp, 3,650 lbs. -- 8.82 pounds/hp
RSTI: 370 hp, 2,900 lbs. -- 7.84 pounds/hp

Some great choices so far...
The Lotus, out of the box
The 911, gorgeous car, bit too many miles for my taste
The Lincoln, always loved that car
The '93 Mazda RX7 - I always thought that was one of the most beautiful cars ever.
And since I've actually been considering getting a something old(ish), interesting as either a 3rd car or to replace my '04 325xi, just because I'm getting bored of it, I've been looking at cars online lately. This car will mainly do only about 2,000 miles per year of local driving. If I replace the 325, this is what I'm considering:
http://www.copleymotorcars.com/mercedes_benz5_55.5vo1658.html

I always loved that version of the T-bird - that, and (believe it or not), the 4 door version of the same era, just something cool about them.
And that Pontiac has to be the best looking of that series...wow, gorgeous car.

The Pontiac is stunning, isn't it? All Grand Villes are wonderful, but the early chrome-bumper models are particularly striking. And for less than USD$20k! That barely gets me a Holden Cruze, for goodness sake.

Have you seen the movie Crank, with Jason Statham? I love his Riv in that movie. Too bad he parked it on an escalator.

I can't possibly decide.

This one for me.
I think i'd have fun grabbing this one http://www.megatrd.com/N041.html for $5800 USD+shipping and then modding it with the rest of the cash. I just kind of have a soft spot for this guy, saw one in my area and just really stands out well on the road.
Overpriced but tempting:

All my choices are dependent on if I can keep my current Protege5 as a daily driver. I'm just going to assume that I can.

Multiple choices? This is easy.
Audi S4 V8
http://newyork.craigslist.org/fct/cto/1335146795.html
Audi S8
http://newyork.craigslist.org/jsy/ctd/1340235587.html
BMW M5 E39
http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/ctd/1340214955.html
BMW 745i

List is endless man. Pretty much any car I want is within that price range. Prob under 15K if I look hard enough.
745i?

745i?
Why not? They're beautiful, quick and luxurious. I-Drive is a pain but who really cares anyway?

I'll give you quick. The other two are just...they're...it's just that........no.
Luxurious compared to some cars, sure, but compared to other cars in its class? The materials weren't as good and the ride was crashy. The 750i looked much better than the 745i, though. I really liked the 7 series after the facelift.
The contemporary XJ is a much better used choice.

W220 S-Class is ugly & dated style wise. Def. has a better interior. Had a better one in 2000. Also looks big in a bad way. A8 is alright but doesn't really get the blood pumping.
I have always loved the 745i. It looks Italian, has incredible road presence and to me feels very luxurious. The deal w/the ride is unfortunate, but sometimes you have to pay the cost to be the boss.
I would rahter do a 5 series than an XJ.

It looks Italian? It looks like it's been in an accident.
