You see, good design is not a fad, or a season's fashion. Calling something old is the level of criticism one expects from junior high school girls with a new pair of shoes.

Getting so personal on the internet is what one expects from a preteen girl

Did you take that personally? I apologize.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Junk.  Shit design.

Not junk, just massively lazy like the Senna

So building a car that is the fastest at 0-300kph is lazy?  Sheesh.

r0tor

The highly publicized aero is lazy.  The F1 hit 240 mph with 400 less hp 20 years ago.

The Aston Martin Valkyeri is trying to hit 240-250 mph with the same ~1000hp while also making 4,000 lbs of downforce and being as fast on a track as a LMP1 race car.  Now that is impressive.

How many people on Earth can drive an LMP1 car at speed, and how many of them are in the market for this car?

In other words, who cares? Valkyeri vs this demonstrate that (thankfully) people who appreciate good design far outnumber bench racers, which is positive.

The number of people that can handle the car is probably close to the number of people that could afford the car... But not necessarily the same people.

The speedtail and Senna is just plain lazy.  McLaren is producing a handful of these types of models without really breaking any new ground.   It's just cashing in on their brand with the uber rich.

What new ground has a Valkyrie broken, and how is it not Aston Martin cashing in on their brand with the uber rich?

Speedtail is the first 7 figure car that generates interest with something outside of meaningless specs. "Valkyrie generates more downforce than an LMP1 car!!!!" OK, and? Would be nice to enjoy a car somewhere other than Eau Rouge

Most interesting thing about the Valkyrie is by far the engine, not downforce next to nobody can utilize

The valkyrei is 1100hp and weighs the same as an Mx5, looks incredible, and will kick the shit out of any road going car thanks to its chassis, aero, and weight.

It's clearly taken road car to the next level.

All the speedtail has is 20+ year old styling and a badge.

Looks, and aero wise I would also prefer the Valkyrie, engine wise the Mercedes-AMG One.

But you are forgetting one thing, McLaren is selling this as a GT car. It will probably still be able to blow anything off the road with the exception of the Valkyrie, One, it's Senna sibling, and perhaps some of the Koenigsegg cars. Yet at the same time, from what I can tell from the McLaren statements, the Speedtail can be comfortably driven from sea to shining sea. I am assuming that the Valkyrie and One can not.

It's easier to find a place to go 100-150 mph (most tracks, some countries) and experience downforce then to get time on the 1 or 2 facilities in the world you could actually hit 250mph in the Speedtail

Nobody is "contributing" anything.  This is an argument of opinion/desire and paper racing.

I've contributed a couple posts on page 1 showing the history of aerodynamics and how to go fast. More than you've done.

Odd question to ask; you've done nothing but detract and distract from this thread. Speedtail = looks good. Valkyrie = ugly. Not much else to discuss as looking at these cars is about all anyone here will get to do with them.

It's called expressing an opinion... Pretty much the reason for a web forum
