I wonder what that 1989 ZR-2 is...

Its a prototype for the '90 ZR-1 that used an aluminum big block instead of the Lotus-massaged LT5 small block.

Looking through the list, I honestly don't see that many bright spots. At least, its not the caliber of vehicles that I would expect from GM's own collection.

Oh cool.

In looking for the ZR-2 I found another super C4 that may be up for sale.

The ZR-1 Snake Skinner.

I think they are trying to get rid of cars they can also some day buy back.  They are saving lots of the 1 off prototypes and other goodies like that.

I saw (part of) this collection in person last year and it's quite amazing.  Lots and lots and lots of 1 of a kind vehicles.

The prototype corvette section they have is pretty big... :D

If I had the money, I'd be interested in some of those retired race cars, but other than that, while I'm sure a lot of them are great cars, old GMs don't really do it for me.

During the auction they kept saying that it was just to clear out a few vehicles they didn't want; to make room for some new ones.

Wasn't ZR2 a trim level for the Blazer?  I seem to recall my cousin having a Blazer that had "ZR2" in big letters on the side.

It was an option package on the S-10 and Blazer.

That's a terrible reason. History is history, damnit - build another room for more cars rather than get rid of them. Equally as disappointing, the Ford concept car auction was one of their worst decisions in recent memory.

Oh my.  I can assemble quite a wish list from that auction.

1970 Olds 442 W-30
2001 Blackhawk
1993 Camaro ZL-1
Pretty much all the Corvettes and GTOs and everything made before 1940...
