Long live the 340xi.

Just picked up a CPO 2016 340xi with 31k miles on it. Has a 6MT, black on saddle brown, no M-sport or anything like that. I'll post pics in a bit

Initial impressions:
-Steering is not as good as my GTI's, but the thing is plenty nimble.
-Jesus christ it's fast
-Best sound system I've heard in a car
-The damn thing defaults to "comfort mode" every time I shut it off, which I don't want
-The shifter is very slick, but I'm not perfectly smooth between 1-2 yet. Plus I can't seem to shut off the auto-rev matching feature.

I like it a lot, but it's definitely way more serious of a machine than my GTI was.

If you're not going to be smooth between 1-2 you might as well rev it out every single time

Basically you bought a unicorn?

Shame about not having the M-sport package, I think the seats and suspension upgrades are worth it.

Dakota isn't perfectly smooth from 1-2, but if I started in 2nd the clutch would take a permanent vacation.  :muffin:

Pretty sure x drives don't get the suspension anyways

I'm pretty sure I've driven an X-drive M-sport F30, but I could be mistaken. I don't think you can get a MT x drive M sport, though.

There was a track handling package for the xdrives

The chance of finding one is probably pretty slim though

Is there a way you can override the "comfort mode" default? On the BMWs I've rented this always pissed me off - just drove home the point that Beemers are for poseurs

I cross shopped them with the Giulia and found they existed but were a bit of a drive.
