Title: '01 Falcon - Please Advise
Post by: tisoy on October 25, 2005, 05:46:23 AM
Its been months that I've been planning to buy this car and wanted some ideas/opinions if its worth my money. IMO, we are so very particular with regards to car pricing.

I don't think we have an Australian member here and the Falcon isn't sold in the North America, so I don't think you'll find anyone here who's particularly familiar with the car or who can be of much help.

I thought the Falcon was a sedan!  What happened to that poor car?

It has a ute version too, kind of like how there were both Taurus sedans and wagons.

The Falcon is sold as a couple of different versions, all on the same platform.  They have the 'ute (which is the same idea as the El Camino or old Ford Ranchero), the sedan, the coupe, and I believe a wagon.  Likewise, Holden offers a Commodore/Monaro based ute called the Maloo.  For whatever reason, the Aussies really took a liking to cars like the El Camino and Ranchero over a traditional pickup.  Interestingly, the hauling capabilities of the Falcon Ute are on par with or slightly better than the last generation F150, and the Falcon handles and performs a whole lot better.
