Saw one of these the other day. Didn't realize they were for sale already. I think I like the styling better than the CX-5. The rear of the CX-5 is too rounded.
Other than the styling and a slightly softer suspension, it seems identical to the CX-5. Seating position might be a little lower and car-like too.
The appearance looks more pleasing. Apparently, it's a bit longer and wider than the CX-5 with slightly higher ground clearance...for off-roading as well as more rugged running gear.
Visually, to me, it's a big improvement. The little touches make a big difference.
I love my CX-5 but it needs more elbow room; that's what belies the age of the design.
Eh. I think the outgoing CX-5 is a jaw dropper, lithe and crisp and gorgeously cohesive.
Butching up and adding contrasting body cladding feels like a regression IMO. It's like Mazda is feeling self conscious about its masculinity.
