Passed by the local Audi dealership last Sunday. Look what was sitting outside on their lot. Took some shots (again).
The last two are HDR, taken later that day in the late afternoons. :ohyeah:

That profile shot has a touch of C-class and 3-series in it, and I love it.
Looks very good. Reminds me of the 1st gen A4 (the 97-01s) in the C pillar a lot. Love that swoop down the bottom. Should be a downright beautiful car with the S-line kit.
i wish we had a 2.0TDi quattro option here... grrrr
It's visually larger than the last car.
Damn that's pretty! I love the low curved character line along the bottom of the doors. Very slick! And having less bulk in front of the front end is always nice, too. The rear end treatment is super too - the B7 A4 had a slightly boring rear end. This one is way more interesting and sexy. I think they added a couple inches to the wheelbase, right? Hopefully it all ended up in the rear seat. If so, I'll be really tempted to go back to the A4 in a couple years.
Thanks Christian - and the HDR shots look sweet!
Beautiful. Looks like an evolution from the previous one, for sure. Too bad it now looks as big as an A6.
It's pretty, for sure, but IMO the profile looks too cartoony.

You are incorrect. You will now see how beautiful the car is. ;)
The S4 is going to the Audi dealer for it's first MOT on Friday, and the dealer tells me that he has just received the new A4 for me to look at...... UK launch is this weekend.
No sign of a new S4 yet - December is the latest estimate. And not only is the RS4 Avant no longer orderable, but there are precisely none left in the UK, so not an option. I am, however, testing one this weekend, which Audi UK kindly offered me! I tested an S5 a couple of weekends ago, and it was nice, but it did not blow me away........... and the new interior is far fussier than the old model, to the extent I am not sure it is an improvement. It's looking I could be back in an Alfa after all!
Oh - great pics, as usual, CW!
I like it but it looks massive.
Anytime guys.
yes, i miss the small size of the previous gens
Those HDR shots came out nice. Sometimes HDR can screw the picture all up. Did you take those HDR yourself Wimmer? If so, good job man and how many different exposures is that?

Yep, took these myself. Been quite the HDR addict. I find the best times for taking HDR is in the mornings or late afternoons or whenever the sky is dark. Really brings out the colors nicely. The winter months are great for HDR IMO.
I used the standard three exposure method. Three identical shots with +2, 0 and -2 exposure values.
Lovely looking car. Even better pictures.
Early reviews indicate that it's still no match for the 3-Series. I'm sure they'll still sell loads of them, though.
Awesome. This car is awesome.
It's a stunning car and if it's at least as dynamically capable as the B7 (I'm sure it is), then Audi has a winner. If I had more disposable income right now...

The B7 is a helluva dance partner.
I love it.

I love it.
Me too.
But for now, I'm just going to pretend I like the B7 more, so I appreciate what's in the garage.

A missed opportunity?

Hmm. This engine is slower than I'd have expected.
I will tell you this: get a two-tone interior or something light and avoid the all black in this car. It's like a coffin and a lot of the detailing and panel differentiation is visually washed away.
It's much nicer looking than the last A4, but both the 2.0T and the 3.2 have got pretty wimpy engines for the amount of $$$ you're springing for them in Canada.

Agree fully. The 2T especially and the 3.2 are merely adequate at this price point. Which is exactly why you should buy Audis in the US new or used... warranty comes across fine. I'm eying up a nice used US 06 S4 for the same price as a used Canuck 06 3.2...

The A4 is heavier I think.
