"Ugur Sahin, the Dutch-based designer of the previous Ferrari Dino study, has plans to put one of his latest creations, the stunning Z03 Corvette concept into production. The car looks similar to the Dino concept, as well as the Ferrari 599-based Vandenbrink GTO but is designed around a much cheaper donor car to make it more accessible.
The Corvette Z03 concept is in fact based on a humble Corvette Z06, a car that already features an excellent chassis to build upon. Co-founder of Ugur Sahin Design, Axel van Mourik, was impressed by the Z06?s proven track record in motorsports and this ended up making it an attractive choice for the design company.
The Z03 concept features significant modifications to the exterior as well as the engine and interior. The end result should see peak power reach close to 750hp from the LS7 V8 in a fully specced model. There will be other engine options, ranging from 500 to 750 horsepower and with three choices in total. The car is expected to weigh somewhere around 1375 kg, making it 50 pounds lighter than the Z06 although there have been other reports stating that it could be up to 100 pounds less than the Z06.
The car will be produced in a limited production run of just 100 and demand is expected to be high. The exact details surrounding the Z03 will be announced in March with deliveries for the US market expected around the end of 2008, giving the manufacturers quite an ambitious deadline.
The project has had help from various partners, including former Corvette chief engineer, Dave McLellan, which should ensure that the Z03 drives as well as it looks. "

This looks way better than anything Callaway ever designed.
The only thing I do not like is the headlights.
I like the current Corvette fine, thanks.
Quite simply, that's not a Corvette.
The front fender bulges look ridiculous, like a bad Hot Wheels car. But the rest is very sharp.

Just what I was thinking.

It has strong C3 styling traits... which I like.

To me, the fender bulges make the car look squished. A short-hooded Corvette throws of the proportions.
I'm not a huge fan of the styling. I think the C6 looks great, and doesn't need any modification. Those wheels are way too big, too.
I'll pass.

Why do you say that? Obviously, it's not a Corvette until they put the Corvette badge on it. But I don't think you meant that...

Concept car wheels are always 50 inches.
This should be the C7.

Use words.
Thats pretty ugly compared to the regular 'Vette.
I'll pass big time...
I like it, looks like an old Ferrari.

The picture that I posted is of the Dino concept. The "Corvette" looks exactly the same, save for a few character lines. I don't want my Corvette looking like a Ferrari. I want my Corvette to look like a Corvette.
Looks like a Mk3 Vette mixed with a Ferrari. Some parts work well, others not so much. Something about the greenhouse doesn't sit right with me. Perhaps it's the way the windshield melds with the glass roof. I also don't care for the way the tail end is so abruptly chopped off.
And what's with the front "grille"...or...lower fascia. Or, front air inlets? Those do NOT belong on a Corvette. I'm sorry, but they don't. Those are pure Ferrari.

OMGHI2U FERRARI DINO!

Recent Corvettes do kind of look like Ferraris. Quad tail lamps on the C5, that weird inlet on the side that looks like the 355's intake.
This thing isn't too far from what the C6 looks like now, which does seem Italian inspired. I don't see anything wrong with it.
mtb is right. I thought "Ferrari" right away when I looked at it. I didn't realize it was almost identical to a concept of theirs, but it makes sense.
I think TVR when I see it

TVR in the headlights, yes. That's a very good look.

Sorry, but they are my least favorite Corvette's by a landslide. Just never did it for me inside or out.

The fact that the later models were the most tepid Vettes since the original 6 cylinder version doesn't help, but the early 427 C3 are the bomb. And the Coke bottle shape is classic.
