"Chrysler issued a press release this afternoon confirming that it is no longer trying to sell its Viper business. Although production was scheduled to shut down at the end of this year, Chrysler will continue building the high-powered sportscar indefinitely.
"The Dodge Viper has successfully captured the hearts and imagination of performance enthusiasts around the globe," said Mike Accavitti, President and Chief Executive Officer, Dodge Brand. "We're extremely proud that the ultimate American-built sports car with its world-class performance will live on as the iconic image leader for the Dodge brand."
Now sell a smaller car, Viper-inspired, for MX-5 money.

Wasn't the Razor concept the one that was supposed to be the MX-5 competitor? (and it was RWD as well?)

That's old. The Demon was supposed to be the new MX-5 competitor, only in the style of Dodge: FWD, Chinese, and a piece of shit.

The Demon wasn't going to be FWD, or chinese. That's something Autoblog took from an unreliable source.
Dodge was originally going to produce a variant of this:

Besides, the Razor looks much better.

Definitely.
Eh. I don't much care for Viper. I'm more of a vette guy myself. (Obviously)

I like the new Vette over its comparable Viper, but the C5 and C4(outside of the ZR-1) never really did it for me, whereas the Viper was scary.

What Hemi just said doesn't need to be put into words, but I completely agree with him.
I saw a cougar pulling into McDonalds in a Viper today. I was enticed by her looks, and the fact she was brassy enough to handle a Viper.

The Viper is my #2 ultimate dream car, second only to the Ford GT. God knows I'll never get my hands on a GT, but if the Viper stays in production...it just may happen some day.
