Title: Nissan Sunny/Versa
Post by: 2o6 on December 21, 2010, 12:51:25 PM
This is the Chinese-market Nissan Sunny, that is also going to be one in the same as the Versa and Tiida nameplates.

The rear looks awkward. The rest of the car is exactly what it should be. I hope Nissan continues to make this car into the value leader it's growing to be.

I think this car looks terrible.

The current Versa looks like a shelled sea creature. What did you expect its replacement to look like?

I don't think the Versa is ugly, just incredibly bland.

I'll agree. But some of the best cars on the market have been the most vanilla-looking.

Good looking car... if it were 2004.

Bland has always been the Sunny's calling card. Richard Hammond said it best, when even ugly cars at least have character.

Nah, the Bluebird Sylphy is a much better looking car.

See, what I meant by that was this brand new car already looks like something designed for the 2004 model year, which was 7 years ago. It looks like an old Elantra, with a cheaper looking interior. The Syphilis you posted looks like a 6 year old Altima.

To be fair, the Bluebird Sylphy did come out in 2004.

Nissan's latest trend is to introduce a model that looks older than the one it replaces: Look at the new March/Micra

It's pretty ugly. It works though if they give us an ugly practical small car alongside a stylish, sporty one -- presumably the latter would be the Sentra, though it wouldn't matter.

Anything but two dumpy blandmobiles that are the same size on the same lot -- and I'm speaking as an on-the-record fan of dumpy blandmobiles.

I believe it's down a size on the Versa. Yaris/Fiesta/2-esque.

Versa is marketed as a subcompact in most countries.

The Sunny is going to replace (IIRC) the Sylphy, Versa, and another small B/C segment sedan.
