Doesn't look too bad

It's probably better than the shit show that was (is?) Top Gear US.
I'm kinda curious on why their set looks so shitty. Must have got it off craigslist from a cable access show.
One of the comments on Autoblog:
"Sitting behind a desk?
Walking around with a handheld mic?"
I agree; not sure if I'll like it all that much.
This seems more geared towards people who actually want to watch SportsCenter than real gearnerd type people.
Top Gear US is actually entertaining.

Kind of reminds me of the talking heads discussing the NFL in pre- and post game reports. Top Gear UK has set the bar pretty high.
It looks like they are borrowing Friday Night Fights' desk. Looks like it might be pretty good. I'll check it out.
I'm willing to withhold judgment until I see it.
I think it's encouraging that they're not doing a complete knockoff of TG:UK. Copycatting, to me, reeks of the insipid, visionless hand of marketing.
I wish Adam's CarCast was available as some kind of video podcast. I'd watch the video portion, but I can't cache an hour's worth of YouTube video on my phone, so I'm stuck listening and imagining what they're pointing at.
I used to listen to CarCast, but I don't really have a good time to listen to it. If I just sit and listen to it, I fall asleep.
Maybe I'll start listening in the car when I get The Road going and its headunit installed.
I forgot that this show premiered sometime this past week, going to watch it on demand when I get done with Top Gear

You sure it's there? Under The Car Show on SpeedOD it's actually the Speed Test Drive of the Ecoboost F150.
It was ok. Not much happened, but I'll keep watching.
It was shit.

Comcast has it listed along with the Ford test drive.
Watching it now and kinda meh.

Yeah, I was looking for The Car Show a while ago and ended up watching that. I'll look again sometime this week.
Dan Neil is fucking insufferable.

Completely unfunny.
It's on Hulu.
I can see where you're coming from...
I think if they axed Neil, it would instantly become 5x better. He hogs the microphone and adds nothing to the onscreen repartee.
I think 4 is one too many anyway.
I had to fast forward through most of the 0-60 shit..
Well I'm not bothering with even watching this, then... I was bored by the idea as soon as I saw screen stills of them huddled around that dumb ESPN-esque desk thing.

That wasn't the worst part of it. Dan Neil is douche incarnate.
Well, it was still 100 times better than Top Gear.
I like Adam Corolla and Matt Farrah quite a bit. Get ride of John Salley (still don't understand why he was picked in the first place), but Dan Neil DEFINITELY needs to go. He's awful.
I think Salley's a buddy of Carolla's. Alonzo Bodden would be 100x better if they absolutely must cast a black person for his replacement.
I like Sandy Ganz on his radio show, even if he is kind of weird looking for TV.
Just got around to seeing the first episodes. I felt that the chemistry and banter between the hosts was vastly better than in Top Gear US, but overall the show was pretty meh.
IMO, Carolla and Farah should be hosting TG:US in place of Ferrara and Wood.

I like Rutelidge.
I don't like Tanner Foust.
Rutledge is a great guy in real life, easy to get along with hilarious, and very likeable. I think he comes across that way on Top Gear as well. I like him.

Foust is quite funny if you understand him. He doesn't have big punchlines, but he subtly throws humor into the dialogue. Plus, he's an amazing driver.

+1
Foust was a little stiff in the early episodes, but as he started to loosen up a bit he could be pretty funny in a dry/sarcastic sort of way. And, as a professional driver, he can weigh in legitimately on how the car drives at the limit.
And it's not that I dislike Rutledge, I just think Matt Farah would be a better host. Likewise, Carolla > Ferrara as a host, especially if they let Carolla ad lib or write his own material. Not that I felt Ferrara was terrible, I just think Carolla would be better.

I HATE Rutelidge
I like Foust. He's the only good one on the show.
I have never liked Adam Carolla.
