Option 2: Like a Rock

This is an argument that's argued all the time. Share you opinion on the better truck. The definition of "better" is up to you.
The Ford. I like its styling and interior better.
Definitely the Ford, it does everything better than the current Silverado imho. The only advantage the Chevy has is its regular depth bed, what was Ford thinking?
When's the new Silverado coming out?
Fall 2006 IIRC.
QuoteFall 2006 IIRC.
Hmm... ARe there any spy piucs?
I am sure there are some out, but I don't know where they are. The front will probably look like the Tahoe's and all truck beds pretty much look the same.
QuoteI am sure there are some out, but I don't know where they are. The front will probably look like the Tahoe's and all truck beds pretty much look the same.
Hmm... Maybe my opinion will change once that is out...
Mine almost certainly will, but what will be out in the future is irrelevant.
100% for the Ford as of right now. :praise:
I didn't think the Silverado was coming until MY 08, but the GMT900 SUVs arrive next year.
F-150 easily for me, BTW. The Silverado has more advantages than some are willing to admit, and certainly isn't a bad vehicle, but the F-150 is a far superior all-arounder.
The only thing with the new Ford is that I have seen some bad reliability marks, which they have done great in previously.
Well honestly,
The ford might be a slightly better all around truck...but i cant stand the looks of the f-150... the bed comes up to my shoulder...what the hell was ford thinking...thats my big issue with the ford...the chevys looks and interior are more than good enough for what my family uses...My only complaint is the edge of the hood meets the side of the fender and leaves a wierd line on the side...but i've gotten used to it so its no biggy...my other complaint is the shocks are a little bouncy over speed bumps...nothing a shock swap cant fix ;) :)
We have over 1,500 miles on our '05 silverado and I couldnt be happier with it...it has been awesome... B) ...
Our '97 silverado was Amazing...the only major problem we had was a faulty altenator several years ago, and that was an easy fix...and then after that we NEVER had a problem with that truck...until i ran it into a tree(http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a255/footoflead/Smilies/15.gif)...
[prepares to get flamed]
The Ford is a better truck (it's newer) at almost everything, but if I had the choice I'd still buy a Chevy. It still does the job just fine, and I'm just biased towards them.

The Ford, hands down. I've used a rather nice new F-150 4 door, and though I think the styling is too boxy, it's a capable truck with a nice interior. The Silverado is just capable.

Silverado is a 4 door incase you didnt know...the interior isnt
TOO bad...i admit it definitly isnt the best..but it serves its purpose flawlessly

I'm fully aware of the door availibility on a Silverado. ;) At any rate, I hate the interior. It's functional, but it's very cheap. Much like the last F150.

Yeah...there's no argument there, but i think yall are being to critical of the silverado
Ford.

I've seen it up close and personal..its not outdated...the 97 version was...and so was the 96 i believe (think that was the year the changed it)...
its got a alot of cool little things most vehicals havent in the past...
I'm a chevy guy stuck in a sea of ford guys...this depresses me :( :D
In your defense, Silverados have really comfy seats. But I haven't sat in any new F-150 seats...

Thanks Tom :praise: I agree on the seats BTW
Besides the interior being nicer, the current F-150 is hands down the nicest riding truck I have ever been in. It doesn't clomp over bumps and the cabin is really quiet for a truck (quieter than some cars I've been in). And yet the ride isn't really soft either. I like the styling, though it is kind of slab sided with the high-sided box. Personally, I don't care much for the looks of the current Chevy. I thought it looked nicer a couple of years ago before they facelifted the front end. The interior is nowhere near the same level as the F150 (though if you're just buying it for work duties, that's a non issue). If I were to buy a truck today, I'd get a new F150 with the 5.4L Triton.

Also, I am sorry but the current Silverado's interior has looked outdated since day one. But, I do sort of like the design for some reason.

I'd never drive either, but I'll take the one everyone else wants. Herd mentality.

IMO Chevy makes a better "work" truck, it seems like you cant break them. But the Ford better meets the needs of most truck buyers.

You can break 'em but if you treat 'em good they will last you forever..
YEAH...somebody else voted chevy
The Ford's ride is rather good. The seats are somewhat firm, but not to the point of being hard. I find them very comfortable. I'm also a little more pleased with the Ford interior because the one I drive (on occasion) is a SuperCrew 4x4 Lariat, with all availible options excluding satellite radio. It's an expensive truck for an F-150.
Interior looks exactly like this.
(http://us.autos1.yimg.com/img.autos.yahoo.com/ag/fordtruck_f150supercrew4x4_139inwblariatstyleside_2006_interior_19_346x270.jpg) I think it's much more appealing than even a loaded Silverado interior. They don't change the sea of black hard plastic dash, no matter how much the truck costs.

I don't plan buying a truck unless its just for work, so a nice interior and comfy ride aren't as important to me.

Trucks werent designed to cushion the avg. wimps ass all day...they were meant to work dammit
Both Chevy and Ford have "work truck" versions with crappy bench seats and crappy interiors. What you're seeing in those pics is not representative of most examples.
Ford baby, Ford.
Chevy all the way.
The Ford is nice, but my dad's Silverado is running strong at 99,000 trouble free miles. No sqeaks, rattles, anything. Truly like a rock. This is after he rolled at 38,000 miles too.

Three years ago. Flipped it up onto the side on a damp road.
It really should have been totaled out because of all the internal damage to steering, radiator mounts, etc that they didn't see initially.
Two months in the shop.
But it's still rolling along flawlessly today. :praise:

Uhh, no. It won't necessarily squish the roof. Usually you can roll it back over unharmed.
