Try this one:

Hmmm...some type of Lotus Elan concept car?
No, sir.
A Rover?
Definitely British.
Not a Rover.
Looks like a chopped up Lagonda wagon.
No, not that.
Triumph!
Not a Triumph.
Bristol?
Come now, would Bristol really come up with something looking like that?
That means "no".
Some weird TR-7/8?
No, no connection to a TR7/8......... I did say it's not a Triumph.
*ahem* So you did, so you did. :tounge:
TVR?
I'm grasping at straws. Sure looks British.
Citroen BX Break?
Is this perhaps the Colin 5000? The car you were building in your basement?
Credit me with more taste than to build something that looks like this.............
The stylist was British, I'll give you all that.
Ok. So it might not be British after all even though the designer was British.
Some kind of Bertone concept car styled by a non-Italian?
I'd continue to focus on British if I were you........
Jaguar?
Is it in the British Leyland at all?

I don't understand what that collection of words means..........
Keep going with the Jaguar thought, Herr Wimmer.
DAIMLER!
Jaguar is relevant, but not the answer. Daimler does not advance you any further.
Rapport Fort?

It's a what now?
:praise:
Correct.
The Jaguar XJ-based Rapport Forte.
If you want the story behind the Rapport Forte, it is well related here: http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/2011/09/25/rapport-forte/
I confess I was scouring the depths of ARonline.co.uk (a fantastic site for info on all manner of British cars, if anyone here hasn't looked at it before; their articles tend to be very good reads, if not a little too biased) for any info on this thing. Obviously I didn't find it before Kevin did.
What a ridiculous car. The coupe-cabriolet doesn't look too bad with the top stowed, in a cheesy '70s wedge kind of way. The one-off estate looks... I can't imagine why anyone thought that was a good idea.
Either way you've got to love the headlights. Certainly a unique solution to integrating them into a wedge front end.

That is crazy!!! Better not try and raise/lower the roof when underneath something. :mask:
I have to say, Mark, my money was on you identifying it!
Yes, aronline is a treasure trove of interesting info............ and a mix of "thank god, they did not build that" along with a few "gosh, I wish they had the money and had been able to build that one.........."
That Rapport Forte picture is from when I saw it at the Silverstone Classic festival in 2008. I did not know what it was, and it looked a bit tatty. Definitely unique, and that's probably a Good Thing!

I couldn't cheat quickly enough.
While browsing British shooting brakes, I found that some that were quite sexy, and others that were unimaginably hideous.
There's a difference between

and that... thing.
I'll try and take a walk when it stops raining and see if I can find an interesting car.

Post a rare Plymouth Volare Coupe Shooting Break! :praise:
