Looks like the BlueSport idea has lived to see another day, after all.

I wonder how Porsche would differentiate their version of this car from the VW and Audi versions. Otherwise, I would think the Audi/Porsche versions might overlap to some extent. I like the idea of a mid-engine VW two seat convertible, though, A LOT. If they announced it, I'd probably throw down a couple ground to pre-order one even now. I've been in love with the BlueSport since it was first shown as a concept.
OH LOOK ANOTHER 911
I just want to see a Porsche with a different nose. Back view of this car is a bit MR2, actually.
I'm going to wait to see if there will be a baby Cayman before getting too excited.
Looks like a 911 and MR2 had sex and this came out 9 months later.
Porsche snobs won't think of it as a "real" porsche either.
If this weighs and is priced close to a Miata, I will have one.

Did they ever come around on the Boxster?

In all fairness, the MR2 was a pretty good looking car.

I'd rather have a cheap sports car that's called a Porsche than a four door sedan and an SUV.

Not really, but my point is that the Porsche nose is getting really old.
Looks slick. I like it.

I know a few that have. And many that haven't.
For everyone complaining, I don't think this is a finalized model yet. Will it have a family resemblance? No doubt. But from the sound of the article, the project isn't even greenlit yet, so it's a bit early to be upset. "Planned" cars don't always come to fruition.
Anyway, I'm interested.

Most of us like it that way. It's an iconic look that Porsche makes its $Texas on.
For the styling, they should ditch the "fambly resamblance", and do a retro 914.

I'd be okay with that. Like this sketch from a few years back.

Motor Trend's vision of a 914.
Great idea. An "affordable" and fun car for the "masses". :ohyeah:

The VW version might price close. Perhaps.

Those guys are pretty funny. It's like saying anyone who drives a Ford without manual timing advance isn't driving a real Ford.

Yeah, it's fine on the 911.
Needs a 2.0L H6.

A "wagen" for the "volk?"

I still say that a Bugatti with front brakes isn't a real Bugatti.

Honestly, I think it would work. I know we have a lot of MX-5/Miata fans here, but let's face it, the car is outrageously dated. The MR2 is dead since Toyota decided to start making appliances instead of cars. The Solstice and Sky died with their respective marques. The Z4 is expensive. That leaves room for an affordable roadster that handles well, offers a nice interior and amenities and is made by a brand people trust.
If it's mid-engine, I'd consider that a quirky novelty, not a disadvantage.
I do think, however, that making VW, Audi and Porsche versions of the same car would dilute the market to an extent, though. Honestly, I think I'd go for the VW or Porsche version. Audi would probably design it like the TT, which never appealed to me.

So do I, I was just pointing out the irony of it
