Union jack taillights are a nice touch. They'll sell tons of these
Looks sweet as hell.
Very very nice. Pity it's FWD so not a Miata alternative really.
Also: New John Cooper Works:

Looks like an updated version of a "Bug-Eye" Sprite. Looks more "Google-Eyed" though.
That's that concept they showed a few weeks back
This must be the production version
Also, although I generally don't care about drive wheels, this will be lame as fuck if it's FWD

Have you ever driven a Mini? Regardless of FWD it is fucking fun as hell.

Preach it bro.
I don't see the appeal of this over the new miata. Uglier, will undoubtedly drive worse, and for what benefit?
That's purrty but shame about the FWD

Miatas are blah. They're the Cheesecake Factory of sports cars.

Yea no
Looks like an Aston Martin embryo
I like it
Oh my, is this going to happen? I want to see this happen.
Are we sure that it's FWD? It has some nice RWD proportions to it.

Looks sweet, FWD sucks in small fun cars, this looks like it would NOT be FWD. Wheels seem too far forward, not much room in these small engine bays to do any weird stuff.

Good catch. Most FWD cars have the front wheel almost right in from of the front door. That definitely looks close to a RWD (which means the engine is sitting above or behind the front wheels) proportions.
Whoa if this thing is RWD it could be a game changer
MINI is still god awful with reliability but it's still something
If it were FWD it would probably look something like this (quick botch job in Photoshop)...
The proportions look RWD to me - unless it is FWD but the engine is longitudinally-mounted (for some reason)...

It still looks fairly FWD.
Look at a new Mini in profile

Yes, the wheels are too far forward for this to be a front-driver. It doesn't appear to be mid-engined, either, since there are no intake vents aft of the rear doors or extraction vents on the rear. If I had to guess, I'd say BMW were building this on their existing RWD 1/2 Series platform.

Basing it off the 1/2 series would be easy and make a lot of sense. Dunno if BMW's brand czar is cool with that, though.
