Went to the dealer. Sat in it. Turned it on. Listened to the burble. Touched the interior. Objections flew out the window. Rationalizations immediately found a lot of reasons to get it. Totally, totally rational purchase (ask me) in the best 'Spin tradition.
Incoming. Paperwork will take about a week or so.

Is this the end for the M5?
Congratulations man. It's obviously beautiful. I like how BMW reverted to turn signals that don't go back to middle

Thanks!
No for the time being everything stays. I'll see in a few months if the M5 is worth holding on to.
That is fantastic
Fun!
Oh mannnnnnn
Nice, congrats!
So now the garage is:
- Mini Pooper Coutryman (is this still around?)
- Wife Wagon X5
- E46 M3
- 1M Coupe
- E60 M5
- F90 M3 CS
- 1/3 of a wrecked GT4?
You're going to need so many car ports!
White?
Why not just get a beige Camry or silver Accord?

Closed garage will be ready very soon. Had to justify it somehow.

True reason for white: all the better colors were taken due to my slow ass decision making.
Public reason: white is a better color because where I live it is really hot and sunny.
Damn, congrats man.
Yea I see the M5 going soon. Faster, lighter, better tech, better transmission, better fuel economy. Progress is a MF

Verynice
Nice little hot rod.
Thanks all. I'll pick it up in about 10 days when I come back to Mexico City.

We had our monthly club dinner last night. This (plus the other two CSs that club members got) was the topic. We´re kind of like an AA group that actually ENCOURAGES drinking. I do enjoy it and the club is a big part of my M fanatism. It's also a networking business opportunity. For example, I am partnering with an architect (the club president) to build and sell a house in Valle de Bravo (a high-end mountain resort near Mexico City).
I have a good club friend lined up to get the M5 for 25K giving me the right to buy it back in 18-24 months at a prearranged price with almost nil depreciation (say 22K) and the commitment to keep it in tip top shape and also with extremely low added miles. We´re our own little hippie economy. This month alone 7 transactions to buy/sell cars happened. It was a busy month but is not that unusual.
I'll wait a month or so until after I have the CS at home and then decide. Meanwhile having the two together will make for some very nice pics.
Congratulations! Sweet and fast ride! :mrcool:
By the way, what police cars do they use in Mexico?

The federal police uses mostly Dodge Charges with big hemi engines. Like this:

Damn. You can't speed then.
Come to Germany where you still can and the cops drive BMW 320d's and 520d's! Once you pass into neighboring Baden-Württemberg you will be chased by Mercedes E220d's!
NICE!!!
Jealous! :)
Beautiful car. The only issue I have is that one could argue that this is the level of performance that the regular M3 should have had. So the water injection thing was abandoned?

Water injection is limited to the uber expensive M4 GTS. From the reviews I've watched, it seems that this final edition of the F80 M3 finally got it "right" so you are mostly on spot about that.
Sweet! Congrats!

Thank you!
Pickup is going to have to wait until next Wednesday because I can't get to Mexico City before that. Then on Thursday I drive it 250 miles home.
We need burnout videos.
Congrats once again! And white is the best color - understated, elegant and still sporty. I think that metallic golden yellow and blue are a little overkill and too ,,LOOK AT ME!"ish. White is just perfect: pure understatement!

White looks fantastic when kept nice and clean.
I would have gone for the blue but they were all gone. So this is it.
When I look at it IRL I love it in white too. I´ll wait a few weeks and *maybe* I´ll consider a wrap. If I go that way I'll have it done in British Racing Green which is a color I have always wanted.
I'm a big fan of white
White has a certain elegance on some cars, this one included.
One of my favourite cars of the past was a pearl white '63 Pontiac Parisienne, with a pale blue top. Very elegant.

Hey thank you!!! That's very nice of you to have done that
Remember that whenever you want to come for vacation here, you have this open offer:
- Free (cheap, tourist class) plane ticket
- Comida and lodging for a weekend in Guanajuato
- Lots of beer and tequila
In exchange for a nice photoshoot of my cars - and, while we are at it, of my family.
:)
Also: driving tour of nearby mountains/picturesque towns in ///M cars
Just from the one shot of the steering wheel and bit of the dash, I love the simplicity and purposeful design. Especially that meaty steering wheel. Great great car!

Good thing Mexico isn't in the EU!
If Turkey can be in Mexico should have no problem.
