I'm going to buy a tube radio so we can huddle round it and, by the light of a single candle, listen to President Obama's fireside chats.

True, but that costs twice as much.

The Max.
You could get a 5 speed with the V6.
You couldn't with anything else.

Tave

Accord, no hesitation. If this were a 2003 competition I would've chosen the Accord 4-cylinder over its competition

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Why Accord?

Because I don't have any experience with the Max, and I like the Accord better than every other choice, each of which I've driven or rode in.

   Okay

You realize it's a competition that involves a Lumina and a Taurus, don't you? I'll take what I can get.

On cars like this, manual transmissions aren't a deal-breaker for me.

Sorry, it's just that i'm so bored of driving the Accord everyday, whenever i see a comparison like this, i just pick whichever has the manual.

I'm a Honda whore, too.  When you've seen one with 220,000 miles on the odometer and it's a 1999 (3 years ago, of course), then I call that a testament to its reliability.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

Taurus with my money, Accord with someone else's.

V6 , 5 speed 2001 Mazda 626! The car that can put you to sleep looking at it from the inside and out.

But I would actually take the Accord. Best looking and one of the better interiors of that group. And I know people who have them and they run forever.
I would pick the Maxima but I never grew to like the back end of that model at all. And in that price range I would take a Mazda Mellenia S over the Maxima.

goldenlover1101

I had to pick the Impala. Very roomy, decent driving dynamics, and it is actually okay looking. if I were buying a car like this, it would be for the family. Space would be a deal breaker

My vote goes to the Impala.  I would prefer the SS.

TBR

Maxima without a doubt, though if money was tight then I would take an Impala.

Maxima!!! A 5-speed and a sweet V6 with good handling.

Second would be the Impala.

I was quite close to voting Impala, but then I saw the Maxima.  Make it Impala SS and it would be a tougher choice, but in the end, I'm going to go with more pedals than less.  It's just me.

Oh, shit!

He had to leave that one out because it would be unfair to the rest of the competition.  It's like putting Michael Jordan in a middle school basketball game.  It's not fair.

No car in the history of the world has matched the B5 Passat, in any single category.  Roomier than most minivans, faster than a Bugatti Veyron, and more fuel efficient than any hybrid car ever made.  Put on track against an Exige S (that's the supercharged one), an average driver in the Passat is able to lap an average of 6-19 seconds faster than a professional race driver in the Exige S.

The only vehicle in the world said to match the Passat's dynamic abilities is the Concorde, which went the way of the dodo.  The fictional helicopter Airwolf had its performance statistics based on pirated information from Volkswagen about the B5 Passat, then just a whisper around the VW HQ, engineers designing the ultimate car, which took years to produce, as it was frowned upon by the heads of VW ("A supercar?  From Volkswagen?  Priced from 20 thousand USD?  I don't think it's a good idea," one former executive was quoted as saying.  Today he washes cars in Rehobeth, PA).  Airwolf was given many of the same parts and specs as the Passat: Turbocharged engine, capacity to seat five, top speed of mach 1.5-2, et al.

Years ago, Gordan Murray was overhead screaming at his Mclaren F1, saying "Why can't this piece of bloody rubbish be as good as the B5 Passat!?"  Murray was rushed to the hospital after attempting suicide at his failure to build a better supercar than Volkswagen had.

He will be 90 years old and still able to school you fools.

Even now, if he goes all batty, he'd be able to swat 12 year olds out of his way.
