Ooh. Mazda6. Just. Only because it's slightly better value than the Passat or the Legacy.

The 6 is easily the best here.

You're easily mistaken.  Go Leggie!

The 6 is my second choice, though.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

what, no Altima?

in that case, I'll vote Sonata by sole virtue of it being the cheapest

Raghavan

Accord.
Just because you can now get the V6 with a manual.

Onslaught

Mazda6. But the Sonata is also a great car.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

TBR

Legacy, I want one bad. White GT Limited with beige leather and 18" black wheels. Can someone send me a check for $20k, that should get me into a 2005.

Except for the Passat, which is a better car  ;)

As expected, I'm the sole voter for the Camry

(I know it's the new one, but still, :praise: )

I'd also take the old one against this bunch.

Notice the Leggie is tied for second place?  It should be in first place.  The Spec.B has so far destroyed the Speed6 and same with all other comparable alternatives.

Weight and fun to drive

How much does it weigh?

And I'd be hesitant to say it's more fun to drive than the Legacy or Passat.

omicron

If it were the superseded Passat, I'd have changed my vote from 6 to Passat.

If it were the superseded Passat, I'd have changed my vote from 6 to Passat.

The biggest problem with the B6 is that it's not really a replacement for the B5.  It's moved upmarket, it's larger, and it's softer.  It's not a cutrate Audi sport sedan anymore, it's a larger, softer car that's pointed more at Accord drivers than at keener people who see how surprising the B5 was.  It's sad to see them move away from this, as I've read, the Passat/A4 connection has gone back to the Dasher (great name!) and Fox.

The real replacement for the B5 Passat is the current Jetta 2.0T/GLI.  I sat in the car and felt the dimensional similarities, and then I looked it up and they're almost the same.  I'm certain some B5 Passat parts are in the GLI interior as well.

I'm pretty sure there's a sport package on the B6, which should make it better, but as a sedan, it doesn't make too much sense to me, other than looking good and being useful.  I like the car, just not as much as the one I have.

As a wagon, though, it makes a lot of sense.

Mazda 6: stylish, younger demographic, better value. Personally, although this might not make sense I prefer the chunkier look of the 3!

Passat: nice all around, could take a few body detail hints from other sedans (ie: altima). VW = good resale value.

These cars are kind of aimed at different groups altogether.  I voted for the passat, even though personally I would buy the mazda.

Raza

Out of curiosity, what Altima hints do you see in the Passat?
