So most of you know I just got back from a month-long trip to India. Here are some pics I snapped of common cars down there. I've got a few more I'll add later.

Typical Truck on an Expressway doing 35km/h

Hindustan Ambassador (2003-2004 model)
This car was based on the old Morris Oxford and is still sold in India.

Ambassador belonging to the Embassy

Especially for Nick; a 2007 Maruti Esteem

Tata Indica in bad shape (Heelntoe has one of these)

Wimmer's dream machine :praise:
The new ones go for Rs. 28 lakh (Canadian $89,000) right now

Maruti 800 (the "heartbeat" of India)

Mahindra Scorpio (Powered by a 2.6 CRD Diesel with 115bhp, I think this is a pretty sharp looking truck)

Hyatt Regency and Le Meridien hotels only use the best vehicles

The Toyota Innova we rented to tour New Delhi and Agra (appalling, ugly car)

Porsche Cayenne I spotted in Mumbai

Premier Padmini (The Ford Crown Victoria of India; with 21bhp and a 4-speed manual column shift)

Opel Vectra (I think it's an import; I didn't know they were ever sold in India)

2004 Chrysler Intrepid R/T Clone - Titanium Graphite [3.5L V6 - 250hp]
1996 BMW 325i Convertible - Brilliant Black [2.5L I6 - 189hp]

Thanks for posting the pictures!  Very interesting shots.  They sold Mahindras in the UK in the 1990s but that didn't last very long.

"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.
