Of course! Plus the the alignment was off for a while, and I guess I take corners too fast since there is still tread on the inside.

There's rice and there's customization, you better start to learn the difference wimmer. Angry Eyes conversions on cars like the BMW are not rice.

Rice is a slow car trying to look like a race car. Extending the definition to mere customization that you don't like is elitist bullshit.

It's a convenient term for some of these cars, despite them not even being rice.  :ohyeah:

Eh, I think rice covers a broader spectrum than that.  I think tacky and or poorly done modifications can be considered rice, as well.

There are clean body-kits on Accords, then there are multi-colored hoods, 4-inch fart cans, and rust clashing with the freshly applied, non-painted "aero" kit.

That's rice.

Naw, that's just poor customization. Rice(r) was and is pretty specific, as defined by the people that made up the term. But, like roadster and sports car, everybody thinks that any old definition is acceptable, muddying up the definition until it's meaningless.

Rice is mostly the attitude that the slow car is fast, and if you were on the web in the mid '90s you'd see it in the myriad of posts on automotive forums by those with aZyN PrYdE, bagging on truly fast cars by saying their Civic DXs were fast due to the fart cannons and nology wires. They would race anything ands the moment the winner would slow down, they'd blaze past with flashers on signifying a "win" on their part. I was there during the rise of the phenomenon and can attest to what ricers truly are.

And as I come from a custom car background, through street rods, '50s and '60s customs and the like, I get peeved when mere customizing like those Angry Eyes mods get lumped in with ricers and race car replicas. it's like nick calling my tiny little M style lip spoiler a huge tacky wing. all it does is show off intolerance and a brand of ignorance that isn't pretty in a supposed automotive enthusiast. Especially one as otherwise knowledgeable as our friend Christian.

ok...

Lets lay down some laws

A. Rice shall be refered herein to as any car with modifications believed or designed to make said car look like a higher performing model.  Rice includes, but is not limited to, Oversized wings, "buzz bomb" exhaust, "performance Stickers" Body Kits, etc.
     I.  Any car with these modifications will not be considered rice if the modifications are in fact designed to show off the cars true potential, or aid in it.

B. "Ricer" shall not and is not used as a racial degridation dowards Asian people.  "ricer" is solely used to describe any person who has a attitude of superiority over their fellow driver due to their modified car.  Dumbass will be used to describe any person who thinks their car is faster, when in fact it is determined to be a "rice" vehicle.

C.  POS shall refer to any car with poorly executed modifications.  Any car that has misaligned, rusted pannels (with a new body kit) mis-matching paint, different wheels, and or poorly maintained car will be considered a POS.  If said owner cannot afford a new car, or simply chooses to spend his money in more sensible ways, his car will be exempt from the POS classification.

On the way back home tonight, we were going about 70-75 mph the whole time.  Surprisingly, a second gen Eclipse kept up with us the whole time.  It had altezza, a ripped convertible top, and was running on a spare tire...at 75 mph.  What a moron!

Don't worry, the paint is all one big vinyl sticker, so it's not actually hurting the car too much.  Here it is, though.
