The occurrence of recent events has inspired me to make this thread. So, lets hear it who do you think will be the next to have more than minor car trouble? Go.

Actually, I'm sure it's about 40,000 miles overdue for a timing belt.  :mask:

I doubt it'll be the Intrepid, but with 154,000 on the clock, I sincerely hope it is, because I want something new.

It went to Eddie's house to pick him up and drop him off yesterday. If his Midas touch was going to kill it, it'd have done so. At this point in time I really don't know what I want to do. When I drive it I love it, but then I think about it that it's just an Intrepid ES.

you should try over revving the engine by going into a gear too low.

My car has 95K miles on it.  It's possibly due for some mechanical failure.  I'm big on proactive maintenance, but haven't had this car long enough to really do anything to it.  I'm sure an alternator and belts are in my near future, at the least.

Ummm....154,000kms is piddly squat for a car. It's not even 100k miles. You're getting the Hybrid, since you've been talking about it forever, aren't you?

Also, the Trep is cooler than the Toyota.

I'm pretty sure that I'll let my mom have the Toyota. I'd rather have one car that I have all my stuff in that no one else drives than have two cars that can be used by my mom whenever she wants. If I had to pick between the Toyota and the Intrepid, I'd take the Intrepid.

That, and the Intrepid is huuuggeee.  You can throw a ton more junk into it.

Catman had an engine blow or something in his Sequoia before it hit 5000 miles, never say never.

My engine should be good (though   the oil light flashes on rare occasion, but the level is always fine, hopefully it is a sensor) but I am worried about that transmission.

Im surprised my dune buggy hasnt left me somewhere yet.My last 2 fresh builds had "teething issues" that were mainly electrical.
This one has had a few probs too,but its mainly been bolts that loosened up (requiring double nuts/lock washers)
Nothing that left me stranded..

If running out of gas a mere 2 miles from the nearest gas station counts as a "break down" then count me in!  What a tard.... :banghead:

i did that all last year. it kept taking more and more fuel so when i thought i could make it, it would stop on the last leg of the journey.
i used to promise myself that the next time it happened, i would chuck it in a ditch and walk home.

My Maxima's running pretty good. Gotta love that torque.

But my 1st Accord was running AWESOME the day it seized a piston. So I dunno.

Zcarnut

Uh oh..Dune buggy broke twice on the same day yesterday. The clutch cable broke in the AM.After fixing that and towing it back home from the beach house,I found out the cv bolts loosened up/flew off on the drivers side making it inoperable yet again.

Our '80 Rabbit racecar did that too.

I think it's a common VW thing.

Figures...Its probably the only bolts on the whole car Ive never put a wrench to!
At least it didnt spoil the weekend. She was all over the beach all weekend.

Well, I'm in the running for this as well, fellas.  Nothing catastrophic, but my car seems to have developed a leak in the brake system.  No visible fluid drips, but the pedal is spongy and the e-brake light comes on when the brakes are applied, which signifies a problem in the hydraulic lines.

It figures too, I just moved to a new town (away from a garage that I'd been going to for years), and have yet to find a reputable car repair place here.  Oh well, that task just moved up a few notches on the priority list.
