It's a big departure from the S-Type, but I like it. The front isn't my favorite aspect of the car, but overall it looks good.

Not a fan.  I don't think it looks that great from any angle.  The grille looks very plain and ugly.

One problem: It doesn't look like a Jaguar.

Yup and it's very generic looking IMO.

i didn't check out the link but the picture in the post made me laugh
"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

Monte Carlo anyone? (regarding the headlights)

It actually looks pretty good. I really like the interior, traditional jag with a modern twist, excellent. But, where's the shifter?

TBR

"One unique feature that made its way from the concept to the production XF is the JaguarDrive Selector. It features a rotary shift interface unlike anything else currently on showroom floors. The device rises into the palm of the hand when the car is turned on, and can be rotated to select park, reverse, neutral, drive, and sequential mode."

Eww

not too  bad, but there are so many cars I would take over this

A8, STS, 5 Series, S-Class. Not sure exactly what it competes with. I think those cover it mostly

I'd say you're looking more at the E-Class and 5-Series category, as it's replacing the S-Type.

From the A-pillar back, I really like it. The interior is delightful, too - it's elegant, and looks clean and easy to use, following Audi's lead rather than Mercedes-Benz or BMW. That front end scares me a bit, though. I assume Jaguar was trying to hint at the four round headlights of Jaguars of old, but I'd rather see the bump in the lights disappear.

Five seconds in MS Paint have made me happier:

Panama_Chopster

That's a great interior. I'm attracted to this new sort of shifter.

Hey, at least they made up their mind and decided how a Jag of the future would look like. I really like it.

I... think... I... like it...

MS Paint, thank you! :praise:

I think it's a little generic... can't say I like or dislike it, but it def. doesn't look like a Jag. It doesn't even have the leaping cat on the hoodly

ChrisV

"An XF-R is rumored to be arriving a year later with 500 horsepower."

Hmmmm.

Not feeling the headlights just yet, and the interior isn't as noteworthy as I was hoping for, but it's definitely not retro or stodgy. We'll see if it's a worthy 5 series competetor when it arrives in the flesh, so to speak.
Like a fine Detroit wine, this vehicle has aged to budgetary perfection...

CWW

horrific! please re-badge it with a lexus-logo.

I like everything but the grille.? It needs to be bigger like the concept.? I also don't like the strakes in the lower front fascia.? They don't belong on a Jag.

EDIT:  I spoke too soon.  I just saw the interior pics.  I don't like the interior at all.  It looks very sparse.  It looks like they forgot stuff.

I want to like it.....

It already looks like a Kia. I wish they had built this instead (from the B-pillar forward):

Remember when I posted this?

That was so much better!

It is way uglier than even the concept:

I hope the XJ looks like this or something:

Great!

Welcome to the freakin' future, where you can't tell the bloody difference between the control that changes your radio station and the one that changes yours gears from the thing that used to light your cigars.

Give me a shafty looking thing that makes proper grindy or thunky noises when I move it or just give me a god-damned bus pass.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

I shall set fire to Jaguar if they fiddle about with the exquisite XJ.

Yawn

I wonder what their sales target will be to keep them out of the red...

I wonder if the future of Jaguar depends on this?
