It's privately owned, but has received some recognition/awards, so it's internet findable.

Hehe I watched a show about this on travel channel . It was quite a place. It's a tree house of some kind. I think it was in california.

Entirely possible, it was in an architectural digest magazine (I read it about a year ago, can't remember which magazine). However it's not in California.

No, not new Zealand. I figured this one would be somewhat difficult, so hint: It's North America (and as we've established, not California).

This is annoying me because I know what it is just not where. I want to say its in Washington now. It's called a tree house by it's owners even though it really isn't. The guy who owns it is an architect himself. I can remember all the small stuff but the big picture?

Not Washington. It was nicknamed the tree house, but that's not the official name given to it by it's architect. The architect is somewhat known, but hasn't worked in many states or on anything too large yet. If we don't get anywhere by the end of tomorrow, I'll post a picture of another work of his in the same locale.

Ah, gotcha.

Yes, it is Fayetteville. I drive by it at least three times a week and thought "hmm, that'd make a good GTPC, it's unique, I knew it'd been in magazines, and who the hell would guess Arkansas?". Unfortunately I couldn't take my own picture, you have to be able to get on the property, and it's well fenced/gated.

For those interested, the architect is Marlon Blackwell, and he's done some interesting "modern" architecture.







And so forth at his website www.marlonblackwell.com . I'm fascinated by some of this, but amazed that most of his work is here, and the only thing he's built that I've ever seen is that tower house. If anyone's in North Carolina, he has a couple things there too.
