Somehow, I doubt you could funk with the rotary's geometry enough to get the compression high enough for reliable compression ignition.

I have now invented the 4-sided rotar rotary engine. It's basically a square that rotates in a triagle-shaped chamber, on dual planetary gears, with extra long powerbands and dual turbonators. It makes 900hp at 1000rpm, gets 80mpG, burns sunshine and its only exhaust is rainbows.

Interesting. I had a similar concept a couple years back, but it ran on girl farts. I just couldn't capture enough girl-fart gas for fuel.

diesel rotary engines have been prototyped already... mazda has a patent on it i belive
