Give them a call. If it works out (I'm a little skeptical), you'll be a changed man.

If that's the real price and the inspection and Carfax come back clean, then I will buy that car tomorrow.  I would have to fly to Victoria and then drive 3 hours north to Parksville to buy it and then take a ferry back to the mainland and drive 4.5 hours back to Kelowna...but I would do it.

The number goes to a fax machine, so I wrote an email.  I'm just waiting for a response.

After you wake up with the sun at 6am on someone's floor, coughing up cigarette butts and tasting like warm beer, you may well change your opinion on this matter.

sandertheshark

Fingers crossed for the M3.

If it works, another miracle has been performed by the BMW gods.

Damn.  That sucker looks like it's in pretty damn good shape!

FlatBlackCaddy

That is a scam, or the seller forgot to throw a another number in there.

TheIntrepid

For an M3?! BULL SHIT! I searched for a BMW under 10k and all I came up with was a 1998 528i with 240k on the clock.

That is either a scam or the car has a salvage title.

Sweet Jesus, Hemi, you should have learned from my Boxster "experience" earlier this year not to get your hopes up. That's a ridiculous price for an M3. For any 2002 BMW really, even a base 3. Even if it's a US car.

Even with a salvage title the car would be worth thousands more.

Cobra93

I thought I just settled this.  ;)

SVT666

I knew it was too good to be true.  I wasn't getting my hopes up either because I thought there was a number left out of the price.  Oh and the palm trees looked a little suspect.  How did you even find it on ebay?

I'm curious how you can tell it's a scam... it is because the Ebay car is in Florida, and the other one is in B.C.?
The pictures are identical.  The write-up is identical.

Hmm... curious... both of the ads have different phone numbers; local area codes, I presume? Looks like the E-bay seller mostly does clothes and purses - until recently he started selling BMW parts. Maybe the seller is just inept.

What he said. :ohyeah:

As far as finding it on eBay, I just searched for BMW M3's. If you do the same, don't forget to search the completed listings also. I was looking for a replacement car for one of the kids a few months ago and ran across literally hundreds of scams on craigslist, autotrader, etc. If you see something that looks too good to be true, try searching some of the other auto sales sites. You'll probably find the original ad that the scammer took the pictures and description from.

It's very possible that the eBay one is a scam too.

Eye of the Tiger

Ah... so perhaps just one of them is a scam, and one of them is real. I'd bet on the Ebay ad being the real one.
Sometimes I just wonder what the POINT of these scams are. You'll e-mail them, or call them, and then what do they do?

They attempt to convince you to send them a deposit via Western Union. You can probably figure it out from there. ;)

They also might be looking for a trusted contact to assist in transferring $380,000,000 USD out of Nigeria. :ohyeah:
