"On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high." - Ayrton Senna

I was thinking it'd be more like the other way around...something towing the Contour to its next destination.

It just looks like you need to spend some time with the leather cleaner, leather conditioner, and carpet shampoo and she'll be good as new! I'd also put some POR-15 on that rust in the door jamb.

No armor-all plz. kthx.

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

on another note, I just found a GOLDMINE for Audi V8 service, parts, and 5-speed conversions, and other stuff:

http://www.germanautoconnection.com/index.html

Too bad it's in VA. There are a few Audi specialists closer to me, but none of them are specialized in the V8 like the GAC.

Holy crap, you HAVE to get the 5 speed conversion later on! That's so awesome!

I hope it's less complicated to convert an Audi than it is an Impreza.

Fat chance. That costs the big bucks! But a 4.2 5-speed would be ever so desirable!

Before I replaced them in my car, they would only click during tighter corners.  Then, it got to the point where they were about to die when they clicked loudly, vibrated the whole front of the car and it didn't matter what I was doing or in what direction.

Front-heavy cars like Audis and Subarus seem to go through CV axles pretty quickly.

the knock sensors will detect and detune the car, right?

Depends on how smart the PCM is.  Some will ride the knock sensor and actively retard timing just enough to maintain most of its power.  Others will simply knock like crazy, then throw a code and fall into limp-home mode.

You still paid what you thought you were going to pay before the guy lowered the price.  Imagine, you'd probably have paid that excise tax no matter what.  It sucks, but the car is all yours, and I hope you learn everything there is to learn about it...

...You're going to need to before you get violated by an NA Impreza.
