I see you have been ilLUMINAted.

I really like the B5 S4, too, and it is by far the most tunable of the S4s to come out in recent times.

So.. 33HP increase to the wheels for $160. Does that sound like a deal, or what? Yeah. It's a performance chip. I just have to send my ECU and have it modified... I think I'm gonna go for it!

From what I'm reading on certain Audi forums, 33 whp might even be a little pessimistic:mrcool:

Yo fatty, I have a thread with a vid for you.

Plus, 33hp? Probably just like my exhaust and resonator gives me 500.

Buddy, a chip gives more power gains than a dual exhaust and resonator.

It is completely dependent on the application, but in this case, yes - a chip on an V8Q will give a lot more power than an Intrepid with an extra exhaust tip.

Exactly: all the chips and reflashed ECUs you can buy for an S2000 will net you exactly zero gains on an unmodified AP1 S2000 engine, because it's tuned to the hilt from the factory.

However, a more mildly tuned engine or one that can benefit from a higher redline may make some seriously noticeable gains. The K20A3 in an older Si for instance can gain 700 RPM with a basic reflash, and when it's retuned to run on 93 octane instead of 87 as well, you not only get a noticeable bump in power (in the 25 HP range), but you also find out you reach 60 in second gear instead of third, knocking over a seconf off of the factory 0-60 time...
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

The V8Q could really use a little more punch off the line, but the top end is already wicked sweet. I wonder how the chip affects the power band, other than the hp peak...

Will it change your octane requirements?

I take it yours is so equipped?  The redline is about 7400 rpm now?

Well, the redline is 6800, but as Honda likes to do, the fuel cutoff was 7100.

It's now 7800, and sounds a little more like a Honda with the letters Si attached to it's name should.

D00d, any Honda can rev up to one-million rpmz before the valves even thing about floating.

It's not going to kill me if that's what you're asking.

The bottom end is the same as the RSX-S engine, and it revs that high, and I've no evidence of valve float, so I'm not concerned there. Hondata claims they have customers running 8200 RPM on stock internals with the RSX-S cams, which put more strain on the valvetrain, and they haven't had any problems.
