Nobody? Here's a hint to get you started. It's a memorial for a tragic event, which was the worst of it's kind in two different ways.

I'm leaving on the Herc for Quebec City in the morning... gone till Friday. So here's the answer:

It's the "Silent Witness" memorial, dedicated to the Dec 12th 1985 crash of the Arrow Air charter DC-8 that crashed in Gander, Newfoundland, killing 248 101st Airborne members (Screaming Eagles), and the crew of 8.

Worst air disaster in Canadian history, and worst single day disaster involving the 101st.

The official cause is "icing", but the Iran-Contra affair broke cover soon after, and many believe the aircraft was transporting illicit weapons. The US Gov't wanted the entire crash site bulldozed over within 2 days.
