I like the R-Class.  If I had a family and the money, I'd consider it.

+1

It looks profusely gigantic in person, though. I think you guys get a SWB version that solves that.

Yeah there's a Standard and Long Wheelbase but I think they discontinued the Standard, with the exception of the base model.  I might be wrong though.

The R-class is an abomination. The theory behind it is not so bad, but the execution wasn't so great. As was said before, the GL did a much better of filling the gap of the lack of an actual 3rd row seat in the SUV's. I see the GL450 and the occasional 550 everywhere*

*On an unrelated note, I see the Cadillac Escalade just about as much as the GL which I didn't expect. Cadillac seems to have done a great job competing.

I don't see many of either.

Lets see. Every morning, on the way to school, there are about 5 parents in the line every morning with them. And I see a shitload more S-Classes. And I see a lot of GL's around town, as well. The idiot across the street from me has a GL450.

I know two people with R-Classes.

The new Escalade?

That, and the whole horsepower war is getting old.

heh...just for that, I don't want to see you accuse anyone of liking boring cars or call them an "unthusiast"

as for the X6, it's a shame they were hopelessly compelled to make yet another crossover; this would have made a very pretty sedan :frown:

Lebowski

It's stupid.  The negatives of an SUV (worse handling than a car due to increased ride height) with none of the positives (space).

But this thing just looks so badass.  If it's anything like the X5, then it should be awesome.

I just watched the press intro video on YouTube...the car is a looker, but it's absolutely useless.  I say buy a 5er Estate.  It has to be a better car.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

Yes, on image alone.  As a vehicle it falls behind the GL in nearly every category.

But this will probably sell more than a 5 estate
