The 180 hp version of the Calais didn't show up until the early 90s.  It also was only 50 lbs lighter than the current Si and didn't handle nearly as well.  Oh, and despite being powerful, the Quad4 motor was a POS.  So much so that few mechanics are willing to even touch the things.

On another note, if I could get my hands on a Japanese WRX like a 22B or a Type RA, I would take them over the current turd in a heartbeat.  But I'd take a C6 over a ZR-1 from 1995 any day.  It all depends on the car.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

Ask Hemi666. He had 2 bad engines.

They were technically "Twin Cam" engines, but they were descendants of the Quad4.

Cars from the late 80s/early 90s looked much better. But newer cars are more practical and economic to own.

That said I would still def. take a *pristine* 92-93 Accord over 90% of cars on teh road, no problem.

IMO, some cars got uglier like the Accord and Civic and BMW's, but others got nicer looking like hte 911.

There may be a few cars that got uglier, but the vast majority are better looking today.

The Eclipse of the mid to late 90s looked a hell of a lot better than the two models that have followed since 2000.  The Celica of the 90s looked better than the following (and final) generation.  The 90s MR2 looked better than the MR Spyder.  The 90s Miata IMO is more attractive than the latest model.  Corolla looked better in the 90s.

The 911 underwent a much more evolutionary change than either of those, but I'd disagree that it got better looking. Some details are nicer, but the coke-bottling of the sides and the iconic frog eye headlights have both suffered.

Not that it's a bad looking car, just that the older ones looked better. Of course, the early '70s 911 before the ridiculous 5-MPH bumpers were foisted upon it looked the best of all.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

The 997 was a step in the right direction in that regard.  IMO, the 993 is one of the nicest looking generations.  Retained the coke-bottle shape while have a sleeker, better integrated front end.  The 996 was sleeker, perhaps, but the loss of the wide rear fenders took away some of its visual "oomph".  997 was almost a half a step backwards towards the 993 in that it went back to the wider rear fenders on the lower end models and round headlights.

I think that the second gen MR2 looks the worst actually.

The 996 should have never happened.
