A modern engine and trans should last longer than that. My dad's Vette still has the original motor and trans!

The Accord's transmission was rebuilt after a bit over 9 years and 120k miles...

Honda reliability...

The Spirit's transmission is one of the most notoriously unreliable ever made, the Chrysler A604 "Ultradrive", and it works just fine 19 years later.

Your dad's Corvette is clearly not an Acura 3.2TL.

I've heard nothing but bad things about the 4-speed automatic in the Trep. 160,000km later, it's fine, just a bit slippy in the winter.

I would almost always pick the hardtop. It's the perfect combination: the quiet and look of a coupe with the ability to be a convertible. Soft tops are okay, but I don't see anything wrong with a hardtop over a soft top. (Unless you're a weight nazi.)

You're my age.  We're getting old.  Plus, now that you're married, your life expectancy has gone way down, since you're more likely to be poisoned by your wife.

Soft top cars are almost always heavier.
