Would you pick a 2 door or 4 door version of the same (or similar) car?

2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

2 door, with very, very few exceptions.

Depends...
I'll take the E90 over E92 and Civic Sedan over Civic Coupe (talking about older models here, not the current gen), but I'd take a two door in almost any other case.

I don't have any need for more than two doors in my daily driver.

There are a few sedans though that I would take over a related coupe.  Maserati Quattroporte chief among them.

MX793

2 door.  I don't carry rear seat passengers often enough to really warrant needing a sedan and I generally prefer the look of a coupe.

It would be silly to get a 2-door Quattroporte now, wouldn't it?

I wouldn't buy a coupe version of a sedan unless the looks outweighed the loss in practicality.

I understand where you're coming from.  But if I'm buying a car with a fixed roof, it's likely going to be used for practical purposes.

Also, most coupes cost more than sedans.  Take the 3 series.  Why would I pay more for a car that not only doesn't look better, but actually looks worse?

What about body stiffness?  Apparently the E92 body is 25% stiffer than the E90 body.

"Fortunately, the 335i avoids the perpetual weight gain of modern cars, squeaking in at 22 pounds lighter than its sedan stablemate, despite besting the sedan's chassis stiffness by 25 percent"

Oftentimes sedans are stiffer than their coupe counterparts.  The 3 series sedan vs coupe is not the typical.

Sedan for me provided you could get the equivalent drive train. I had a '79 Camaro, and stuffing people back there, and listening to them whine and moan was abominable. I'll never do it again - even once is too much.

Availability and price play a large role in car shopping, especially when you have a family, a full time job, a house, etc.
