What are some of the most understated cars out there?

Nominations:

1995-2000ish Cavalier

Handled Great, Looked Superb (In it's day), pretty reliable, saled decently.
Z24 was pretty nice. The Convertible was attractive, too.

The Refresh in 2000 cheapened the car greatly.

The 2004 facelift was even worse. GM had let this car rot....

The cobalt is the cavalier we needed......in 2002.

--------------

Suzuki Aerio

Handled decently, AWD Option, Quick. Sadly, it was funny looking.

Gotta-Qik-C7

2014 C7 Vert, 2002 Silverado, 2005 Road Glide

S204STi

GTO takes this award by a long shot...stupid Americans tend to equate bulges and scoops with performance, sadly.

Raza

I guess I'm late to the party, but GTO as well.

Even the Cobalt is not very good. :nutty:

Honestly, I don't even see how the Cavalier was the inspriation for this thread. :nutty:

The Cavalier was an unsafe, poorly built, early 80s era car (refreshed time and again for over 20 years) with average, at best, reliability and handling.  The Z24 was moderately quick, but that motor was also a POS (didn't someone here recently have a 2.4L Sunfire crap the bed?).  The exterior was reasonably attractive in coupe form, and that's about the only good I could say about the car.

The Cavalier was a piece of shit.

The cars I nominate for this thread are the Ford 500 and Infiniti Q45.
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I would agree with the current Ford Taurus and 1st gen Q45.

The Taurus with the new 3.5L compares very favorably to other V6 family sedans, but seems to have some kind of stigma attached to it.

The 90-96 Q45 was a 5-series killer that happened to look too much like a Maxima from the same era. It became neutered for the 2nd gen to emulate the Lexus LS, and while the 3rd gen was a wonderful car, it was unfortunately outclassed by the LS430 :frown:

The more I see that thing, the more I see a resemblance with Hitler.

IMO, it's as if Toyota tried to copy the Hitler mustache with the Camry SE's grille.

The Japanese GT car that everyone forgot about, being too caught up with 300ZX's RX7's Supras and 3000GT's.

Yep, the conversion is pretty simple too, from what I recall reading. If it wasn't for the funky windows I could really love that car.

Also, understated and overlooked are entirely different things (though the Cavalier is neither).
