Acura 3.2TL

So my friend just bought a 2002 Acura 3.2TL today. I spent the whole day tooling around in it, including parking lot drifts, highway driving, and city driving. It's fully loaded, with the Bose stereo, sunroof, leather, heated seats, everything.

It has red painted calipers. Was this stock?

The car drives VERY nicely, smooth as hell, and barely any torque steer. The exhaust note is lovely.

I made a 0-60 vid of it while driving. I'll post it later.

The car has 159,000km on it and was bought for $8995.

Nice car.  Why is Canada so snowy, though?
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.
You can take the troll out of the Subaru, but you can't take the Subaru out of the troll!

Nice car. We used to have one (a 1999, IIRC). I only drove it once or twice because we sold it before I got my license, but I thought it was awesome since I only had two Grand Cherokees to compare it to (a 1993 and a 2001).

Make a vid you you "drifting" the TL. I have to see this.

FlatBlackCaddy

I doubt the calipers were painted red stock, looks like someone did it themselves.

Trep's unibrow is no longer camera shy. He's finally let that beast be captured in it's natural habitat.

I most certainly do not have a unibrow.

Wouldn't be ashamed if I had one, but I don't. ;)

I think I have the genes to develop one though. Both my mom's brothers have them. Neither of my parents do, though.

You find it attractive!?

The last time he posted a "drifting" video, it detailed an Intrepid making a very very slow 180 in a parking lot. I honestly couldn't tell if he thought it was cool or if the parking brake got stuck and he kept filming.

Nice car but I don't like the red calipers.

Why would you drift your new car?!

Looks like he got a decent deal. Snow tires on factory rims though?

Never drove a 3.2TL. Drove a 2002 3.2CL Type S in like March 2001 though. That was the first Honda auto I ever drove that would ignite its front tires from a standing start.

So my friend and I are supposed to pick up the 3.2TL tomorrow, provided the dealer fixes these issues. I don't know why I didn't mention them before, but here's what was wrong:

-Steering wheel vibrated like mad (he said it was a bad wheel alignment)
-Left turn signal blinked at twice the rate of the right one (a bulb out)
-Radio jammed on 103.5 (He said he'd replace the unit)

He, being the dealer. We were ready to walk, and he offered it to us for $8995 instead of $9995, with everything fixed by Wednesday. So my idiot friend left the deposit, but the dealer said if it's not up to our standards by Wednesday we can walk.

I'm also going to try and talk the price down to $8000 because of those red calipers.

But you stated that he already bought it???

Either way, it's trouble. The dealer will go as cheap as possible on the repairs (the steering wheel issue sound more than a simple alignment but that's what they'll do in a band-aid attempt to fix the problem), and good luck getting that deposit back should your friend try to walk from the deal.

They signed the papers and left a $1500 deposit, but his dad made them write "PURCHASE PROVIDED X ISSUES ARE TAKEN CARE OF" and a list of the issues, on the paperwork they signed. I only know these details because I'd left after the test drive when him and his dad sat down with the dealer, my buddy gave me a call afterwards to give me the details.

I don't know about that. I had a vibration that was fixed by me checking my tire pressure and putting some air in my right front.

Trep didn't provide enough information to make it sound like anything.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

Secret Chimp

I wouldn't even touch it based on the red calipers. Those guarantee a complete retard owned it at some point previously.

He is still going to need decent tires. The vibration is not from a bad alignment.

If you think you can get another grand off, I'd settle for some decent all seasons put on those rims instead.

Sorry, I forgot to post an update yesterday. The vibration was still there, and the dealer pretended he didn't notice anything. It was SO obvious. I also asked him about the calipers and he said it was factory.

Needless to say, we walked. My friend's dad came up from work and he argued with the showroom manager and got his deposit back.

We're test driving a 2003 Civic SI Veloz today.

How do you go from looking at a 3.2TL to a Civic Si?  Change of heart?
