Which would you rather have?

This is a 2006 JCW Cooper S with 11,000 miles and it's in immaculate condition.  It has the premium and sport packages, as well as the JCW package and the aero kit.  It has black LEATHER, a rear foglight, and the anthracite wheels, which are $2,000 I believe.  The price?  Around $27,000 for a once $36,000 car.  His dad says that he's ready to sell it when we're ready to buy.

In all honesty, I don't know why anybody would buy a Clubman S for any reason.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Well, we really like the Clubman and it's basically down to these two cars for my dad's next car.  My dad actually likes the Clubman more than I do.

A standard clubman you could make a case for: but a loaded S I don't think you really can. Even giving copius points for preferences, there are just so many better vehicles for that price.

The standard Mini S, well, there's an appeal there that's enough to make up for the price, but you get one without illusions to it's being a practical car. The clubman looks like it's more practical, but really isn't that much.

We're test driving one tomorrow if the dealership isn't full, which it shouldn't since we'll be there around noon.  The Clubman really is a lot more practical than the regular S.  It has so much more room.

But not nearly as much room as a dozen other $30,000 cars that would also outperform it. There's the problem as I see it.

Minis are cool becasue they're, well: mini. Make them less mini, and they've lost that appeal.

I'm all for going through the customization of your OWN MINI.  A MINI built to YOUR specifications, but that JCW is a darn good deal.  We'll see...

$27k for a used compact car is never a good deal.

They have 3 of the darn things, and two of them are going away as they placed an order for an Audi A5.  This is one of the ones they're selling.

Who in their right mind would pay that much for a FWD compact when you could have a 328Ci?
I wouldn't pay more than $22k for an S. And I'd rather have an Si sedan.

What does that have to do with whether a $35,000 Mini is worth the price? If anything, it just shows how much money they can throw around.

CJ, why the hell would they have over $100,000 in Minis?

I think BMW is insane to charge $133 for union jack mirror caps when any decent pinstriper would gladly paint a better looking pair for cheaper than that. Then again, it's not really about how it looks, is it?

I like the chocolate brown interior in the Clubman. Too bad it's not available on the other Minis.

What upgrades entail the JCW package anyways?

JCW, imo. The Clubman looks like ass.

So there's a complete set of toggle switches...and they look so cool.  Also, when we get fog, it's seriously thick.  The last time we had fog was last week, and you couldn't see the Integra from the front windows of my house.
