New Models to replace the clones in Chery's lineup.

Faira lineup will be a sub-brand in the Chery stable.

No-Name City Car

Faira JJ

Faira HH

Faira YY

Save for the garish vents on the YY, I like the YY. The City car is bland, the HH is ugly, and the JJ is a bit dated.

I see a lot of design robbery in a couple of them. Not at all surprised by that though.

Want one with a Mini paint scheme?

*The price you see is in USD

And this car laughs at you for having bought it

I'm blaming the recent uglification of Japanese cars on the derivative styling of most Chinese cars.

In a way it makes sense: They'd rather have ugly cars than cars that are confused with Chery or Brilliance.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Yeah, but there's been "design robbery" since forever ago, and by all the major brands, too.

The Chinese might be hardworking, ambitious people, but they aren't creative enough to build a proper looking car whose design hasn't been copied (yet...).

Well they at least work hard at making them look as bad as possible

The resemblance is more than just a passing one.

You could have done the same to any small hatch and gotten similar results. Much of their design differs from one another, such as:

the rear lights
the front lights
the rear 3/4 sheetmetal
the rear passenger window
the driver and passenger windows
the hood
the beltline
the grill/front bumper
the wheels
the front overhang
the rear bumper
the air vent and lower contouring

Since racing stripes are an outcropping of racing livery, and since that specific pattern is the one used in the 1960s by Mini driver Paddy Hopkirk...

These are Hello Kitty cars, and that surprises me, given China's reluctance for anything Japanese.

I didn't notice the checkered top, but other than that, we might as well accuse it of ripping-off the Viper, or Camaro, or Musting, or GT40, or...

I agree-  there's quite a bit of Viper influence in all four of these styling proposals. ;)
