X3 loaner car

I was recently given an X3 loaner which after I drove one a few weeks ago decided on the X5.  I spent 4 days with it in and around Chicago and was really surprised with it.  It drove nicely, rode well enough, was resonably quiet, and had fairly good performance.  What I really did like about it was the handling it felt very good through some moderate cornering (I'm too chicken to do too much).  I drove it from Traverse City all the way to Chicago but only averaged about 19.5 miles per gallon which wasn't that great but hey the company I work for pays for all my gas.  It wasn't a bad car to have and the huge sunroof was nice with the double sized shade cover that folds back over the rear seat and into the roof.

All in all I was pretty impressed with the little SUV.  And it didn't stick out like a sore thumb. One night I took a VP of the company and a division director.  The VP says he has a 750Li and was also pretty impressed with the little guy.  Come to think of it the seats were very comfortable as well.  I'm glad I ordered the X5 but I think I should have given the X3 a little more of a chance!

We had one on the used car lot recently.  Very nice car inside and out...every time I sit in a BMW I realize just what it is the rest of the automotive world misses...which is just about everything.

I've driven more X3s than anything else, and while I think the handling is great and the ride is fairly OK, it just feels a little off to me.  I like the X5 a lot more, truth be told.

Also, the gas mileage sucks on both of them.  I am a bit surprised you averaged as much as 19.5 mpg.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I drove another X3 today.  I really don't think the ride in it is that bad.  It just feels a bit generic.

I like the new one the best. The styling, ride, and interior are all better.

You can leave the "not thinking straight" part out. I know when I was in high school, it was the first thought no matter what.  :evildude:
