I really love the look of the EVO X

I'm a sucker for slamming

The way the C-pillar is kind of flat reminds me of the old Galant VR-4s. I really like this design.

No, it's slang for lowering a car.

And a lowered black Evo looks really nice, but I'd still rather have an STI.

Speaking that the Evo now weighs more than the Galant VR-4 ever did, you tend to wonder....

What's the point of the Evo?
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

The Evo's also much bigger than the VR-4...

I would probably go with the GTS if the wheel wells are the same.

But see, I want a first gen Galant VR-4.  I'd take a second gen one, too, if it was offered here.

But I wouldn't want a 4000 lbs. midsize AWD sedan.  The MazdaSpeed6 was the spiritual successor to the Galant.  That's how it should've been done, so maybe it was best Mitsu dropped off the map.

But then again, the Evo was created because the Galant was too heavy at 3300 lbs.  The Evo is almost 300 pounds more than that now and they no longer rally it, so I ask again, what's the point?

If you were one of the lucky few, you could special-order an '06 (?) Magna VR-X AWD with the 180kW Ralliart V6 engine (240hp) weighing in at around 3680lb.

Imagine if Mitsubishi Australia had gotten their act together, and put the AWD system underneath this oddly good-looking 308hp TMR380:

I agree sportyaccordy, I like the look too.  Only saw my first X the other day, but it's much better looking than it's predecessor.

Haven't seen one in the flesh. But even the regular Lancer looks great. I just wish it wasn't so tall.

According to the numbers i've seen the Evo X weighs less than the speed6. The speed6 handles and feels like a SUV compared to the EVO X.

Also according to the source i looked at, a 1991 Galant VR-4 weighed 3251 pounds, by comparison my EVO IX was only 23 pounds heavier.

All from edmunds(easiest place to get all of these)
Galant VR4 - 3251
EVO IX - 3274
Speed6 - 3589
Evo X - 3517

I don't see any 4 thousand pound midsizers here.

Maybe this post wasn't even about what yours was, but i admit i don't understand what your post was trying to say.

I like the first one though it's too low and the wheels suck.  The second one's wheels and tires are ass ugly and I'd rather have steel wheels.

At least they did it right by making every effort to lose weight with lighter glass, aluminum bits, everything.  This car basically has nothing to do with all previous generation Lancer Evo, it's just a souped up version of a Lancer that has nothing to do with Rally cars anymore.  And 300+ lbs heavier too...  :nono:

What I was trying to say is that a new Galant VR-4 would be really heavy, and the Evo has outlived its intended purpose.
