This is one of the better-spent 8 minutes of video I've watched recently.

From what I can tell from the vid, Nissan stopped their clock a little fast to get that 7:29, the Vette is a little trickier to drive, and watching someone decelerate from 180 to 95 in a matter of seconds is amazing.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

I love how you can't hear the GT-R at all. I really hope they liven up the exhaust note for the V-spec version...

Cool vid though! GT-R is definitely an easier track partner for sure.

I don't think the GT-R had any sound, there was no wind noise, no tire squeal, no nothing.

MrH

Wow, that ZR1 is brutal how fast it is.  It seems to accelerate from 100-160 mph faster than my car does 0-60.  Hell, it probably seems that way because it does.

To be quite honest, I don't know how you can say that.  Watching those videos, the driver of the GT-R was correcting the steering just as much as the driver of the ZR1.  The steering wheels in both cars were flying back and forth in corners and going in and out of them.

The part I found most impressive was how quickly the ZR1 scrubbed off the speed from 175 mph down to 52 mph.  That was unreal.

It's interesting that there are slightly different start and end points.  Nissan stops their clock a bit earlier but they also started their clock a bit earlier too, so that when the ZR-1 clock read 0:00.0  Nissan's clock already had 4/10th of a second on it.

FlatBlackCaddy

Going by the video clock is the best way. Though they didn't freeze frame a finish to show the final times you can get a reading on the final bridge(about 3 seconds before the GT-R video clock stops. According to what i saw the ZR-1 hit the final bridge about 4 seconds before the GT-R.

Now, if everyone is done watching the WOMEN circle the track then it's time to watch some REAL action.

I'm sure both cars are capable of better times, but you don't want to push them too hard on the ol ring.

The video clock was going faster than the Nissan clock, if you notice...

Phhf, I can get a 6:55 with my BMW M5 on Gran Turismo 4.

I want to be taken around the track in an M5 with Sabine Schmitz behind the wheel.  You know, you can actually pay her (or some other guy who co-owns the company) to do that for you.

It's sponsored by BMW too. I want to do that very badly.

I'd specifically want to do it with Sabine.  Otherwise, I'd just as well rent an old Fiat Punto and race around the track myself.

There are a lot of things I'd like to do with Sabine.

Sitting in the passenger seat of a car while she drives it is not one of them.
