You might get an email sometime in August.  Srsly.

Is it current in its NY inspection?

And Iffy, I re-learned how to drive stick on a 2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V.  Why would you avoid that car by chance?

That generation of Sentra -- built in Mexico IIRC -- has a poor reliability record.

It also has a wheezy engine (not the SE-R), a cheap interior and drives like a cardboard box.

All of them have cheap interiors, but the SE-R can certainly take the corners with a decent amount of gusto.

Update:

I have gotten my brother hooked on some kind of car he's never heard of called an "Insight."

The idea of a manual gearbox and 60-70 mpg makes this look like a very good option at the moment.  I'm going to try and help him find one.  I sent him a listing tonight for one, but I don't know if he's ready to pull the trigger yet.

Mileage and year?  That seems a little low, to be honest.  Must have a lot of miles, or a salvage title or something.

What for?

No idea .

I kind of want a Subaru Legacy (no Outbacks) wagon, a Ford Ranger, VW Passat wagon, or a Nissan Maxima.  Those are the ones I could realistically afford.  Still in the very early stages of looking though.

And I already know that the smart thing to do is keep the Proteg?.

Edit:  Add E36 and E34 BMWs to the list as well.

Realistically, Adam, PM me a price for the Protege if you're in a selling mood.  I have a brother an hour away from you and I could possibly spend the night over there on a crusade to pick up a new car for my brother if the price is right.

He's at a lot looking at a Lancer OZ Rally Edition right now  :rage: and I sure as hell don't want him to get it.

Interesting group. Why a truck?

I miss my Ranger, and having a truck is so easy - I can just throw all my stuff (bikes, camping gear, etc.) in the bed and go.  And a 2WD Ranger with the 2.3L is good for 27 mpg highway (which is better than what the Proteg? gets with 2 bikes on the roof rack).

I could use the ground clearance too - there's a few trailheads that the Proteg? can't make it to.  Nothing urgent, and I'm just starting to keep an eye out right now.  Mostly, I just want something different.
