Silicone in lubricants.

E.g. WD-40 screams on the label that its "silicone free" whats the problem with containing silicone, are lubricants with silicone posses some health hazards?

Pancor

From my limited knowledge on the subject, silicone is the worst enemy of any type of paint or finish, with just a small amount in the air able to ruin a paintjob in progress...

WD-40 used to be be banned outright from any auto plant with a paint booth in it- even trace amounts of silicone can fisheye the paint on many cars.

I'm guessing the new stuff is now silicone free for that reason.
Maybe we need to start off small. I mean, they don't let you fuck the glumpers at Glumpees without a level 4 FuckPass, do they?

Didn't they find Meguiar's NXT wax to contain silicone or something?

Probably a lot of lower end wax products contain it because they make for a low-effort shine.

But they are also to be avoided.

I were asking about some risk for the health from silicone is there?

Btw i used WD-40 to clean rubber/plastic parts outside of car it did not harm paint at all, but again WD-40 claims on the box to be silicone free since it was invented.

Offtopic, once i spilled brake fluid on the paint, it took less than 20 seconds to melt painting, luckily it was under bonnet.

If your car is completely spotless you're not driving it enough. That or you have a rubber car.

That's a great local brewery that we have. Do I drink their beer? No.

None that I'm aware of.  In fact, silicone based lubricants are used in medical applications, including lubricating hypodermic needles and prosthetic eyes.
