Sonata not really any cheaper than the rivals

QuoteThis is the MSRP price on the pricing page you provided: $24,895 (fully loaded)
This is the price on the pricing page you provided: $24,395
This is the TMV price on the pricing page you provided: $23,981

So the price they listed wasn't their current TMV price, but it wasn't sticker either.

BTW, when I was just test-driving a Sonata, I was offered without asking a price more than $500 below sticker.
Like I said earlier, that includes sales tax, as do the prices for the other 4 on that page.

The other cars listed have prices well below sticker even with the sales tax, the Sonata doesn't. That doesn't mean that the Sonata won't be selling well under sticker (it already does in some places) it just means that Edmunds hasn't updated their prices.

The price they have would be well under sticker if you subtracted the sales tax.

QuoteI would hope so Iffy, you should have been offered 1500 under sticker.
Their official no-haggle Internet price is about $2,000 below sticker for a fully-loaded LX model, and about $1,700 for the base GL.
Hmm, what's invoice on this little stinker?

About $400 less than the internet price.

But the others are already well under sticker, so subtract their sales tax and you can still see that it's not exactly right.

It did go on sale less than two months ago.

That is because they are selling well under msrp since they are '05s and already far into their product cycles. This really shouldn't be that hard of a concept to grasp.

More to the point, it's the end of their model year and the beginning of the Sonata's. Within a few months, the Sonata's price, even considering depreciation, will be well below the others', and I predict rebates by November or December.

Invoice - any rebates is the key to take that victory.

What's with the rebates anyways?  Are they like mail in or what?  You have to cut off the UPC from your car and mail it in?  Never really got a car with one.

ifcar

No, you just pay that much less for the car.
