New front for the MX-5

Looks like the new MX-5 is about to get it's face lift. No pictures from the back but I see red tail lamps rather than clear. The front has obvious new headlamps, grille, rims and fog lamps. No word on power or options that I've seen to this point.

TBR

Saw this early, I definitely like it better than the current model.

the Teuton

So when is the 2.3 liter turbo engine going in there?
2. 1995 Saturn SL2 5-speed, 126,500 miles. 5,000 miles in two and a half months. That works out to 24,000 miles per year if I can keep up the pace.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

Looks great.  Much sharper, much more aggressive than the current model.

Very nice!  Ditto what Raza said.

Next car!

Black MX-5

or Camaro...

hmmm

I was hoping they'd put some agressiveness in it.  If I'd ever gotten the '06-'09 model I'd have put on the front fascia that's in my sig...

Very subtle changes(looks basically like new headlights, with a updated bumper cover). Yet it looks fantastic, i know this car goes after purity and a unfiltered driving experience but i believe it needs more power. I'm not talking crazy power junky stuff here, just a nice little bump(maybe in a top end CS model it doesn't have to be a speed model). A slightly worked over(de stroked) 2.3 with a 7500 RPM redline and some fire up top(190-200HP) would be perfect.

Agressiveness in the MX5? Compared to the jellybean headlights of the pre face lift model this is VERY agressive. I didn't expect huge air damns and scoops all over the place.

Are you actually cross shopping a MX5 and Camaro? That's an interesting selection.

Looks good. I must say, though - I've never liked the bonnet shut-line as a standalone feature. It must be hard, of course, without a defined grille/front bumper, but there's a bit of a 'raised eyebrows' look with which I've never quite felt comfortable. Much nicer in darker colours, I think.

I like it a lot better than the current model.

I never cared for the blobby oval thing.

I agree, but it maintains it's Miata-ness in that it still looks "friendly," in a way. The fender budges also look less cartoony, but that might just be the angle.

Old, for comparison:

I like

I agree that 200 HP would make it better

A fixed roof would make it my next car

I would love a fixed roof MX5. I hate how there are no cheap RWD Japanese coupes.

I've seen more than one rumor saying it's being worked on. Who knows if it will happen?

There've been a few concepts over the years, but nothing ever came of any of them.

The Mustang V6 isn't all that cheap (but I guess it counts, even though you'll always wish you bought the V8, even if the V6 is fine on its own) and the others don't exist yet.

And I also assumed you meant two seaters.

I would have a NB Coupe right now if they had sold it here. Hell, I've looked for one to import from Japan but can't find one.

I had my brothers 2007 MX-5 for this week. If I had the skill of Raza at writing I'd do a comparison between it and my car.
