Anyone been to these events? or know of someone who has attended?

I'm curious how they run this, what type of roads do they go on, how flexible are they when it comes to "enjoying" the aspects of the car.

Any info or comments would be great, this looks like a fantastic event(even if it's alittle spendy).

Eye of the Tiger

They just drive on public roads, right? Legally, I'm sure they can't let you do anything illegal.

I guess they have a Scuderia now too, but I don't know if they are anal about speed.

Well it's confusing because of what they write(granted i know they are trying to sell a service).

Here's some clipings, bolded areas are my emphasis.

"Test drive our five fabulous supercars in one day, just like you own them.

So, from the above bolded section i get the impression that one would be able to "experience these cars the way they are meant to be experienced"

I don't want to drift a ferrari, or hit a buck fifty down the interstate(ok i DO but understand that i won't be able to). But for 1500 dollars I SURE AS HELL EXPECT TO CRACK THAT THROTTLE and experience the power of these cars.

Here's another bit i find interesting(if not contradicting).

"What are some of the WCD Rules?
This event is not about racing or inappropriate speed and WCD has the right to exclude any driver who does not follow the rules!

Follow all traffic laws - police tickets are your expense
No inappropriate speed - you must respect the local speed limits
Do not start before instructor has explained the car to you
Do not rev the engines at idle - the cars are sensitive - respect them
Traction control must stay on at all times
Keep lead car in sight - stay with group - leaving means expulsion from event
Stay focused on the road
Drive responsibly and within your skill level
No radio use / no cell phone use
No picture taking while driving / no mounting video camera in cars
No burnouts
Do not tailgate
Inspection of each car is mandatory after each drive"

So follow all laws......and pay for your own tickets.

This section coupled with all the BS about experience these cars the way they were meant to be doesn't make sense. So did i get to DRIVE the car or just RIDE in it from the drivers seat.

I'd rather off just rent an exotic for the day(OMG be limited to just one car) and go out myself and truely enjoy the car. Sadly in my area exotic rentals are not an option.

autoweek did a story on these things a few weeks ago... i think 1 of the places actually put you in the car on a road course where you can actually use the supercar's limits
2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee No Speed -- 2004 Mazda RX8 6 speed -- 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia All Speed

I'm sure that would take place in an area with track access. This event takes place in minneapolis and the closest(real) racetrack is BIR which is about 150 miles away.

I would like to know what you uncover as well because I have been kicking around the idea of doing one of these and just recently saw an article for this particular program...
Difficult takes a day, impossible takes a week.

I haven't found a single testimonial about this program that hasn't come from WCD's marketers.

Ya, that doesn't sound very promising.

Payman

$1500 for 2.5 hours (out of 5 total) of "follow the leader" at posted speed limits...

I'll pass.

I wonder if they make you sign a nondisclosure agreement in order to participate?

Or 20-30 minutes of hair raising on the edge driving just before you get banned and escorted away from the event.
