Not really a big change...I wouldn't be able to distinguish it at first glance from the previous look.

I gotta hand it to toyota, they took an already barely visible car and made it even more bland.  They really have a talent for such efforts, A+ if that was their goal.

Fail.  That new front end looks like ass.

The gray one looks like a previous generation Highlander.

Maybe this is a silly question, but which one is the new one?

I honestly can't tell.

Both. The current one:

the Teuton

I like the one that doesn't look like a guppy, the lower one.

I don't care about all that shit.  I'll be going to college to get an education at a cost to my parents.  I'm not going to fool around.

She'll hate diesel passenger cars, all things Ford, and fiat currency.  They will masturbate to old interviews of Ayn Rand an youtube together.

i think they did a pretty good job improving it's looks. i would not buy one, but it looks more rugged than the "secretary" styled 2008. good more to attract more male buyers.

I'm still confused, to be honest.

The facelift includes a different front fascia for "Sport" models. (They're sporty because they don't have as big of a grille as other versions.) The two photos I posted at front are both facelifted 09s, and the photo I posted later is of the old version.

93JC

I understand that, I'm just confused as to why they did this at all. They don't look appreciably different.

It makes me wonder how much $$ Toyota wasted on a refresh that will likely go unnoticed by the majority of shoppers...

Instead of Uglifing it, why didn't they just use the front and rear facias of the JDM Toyota Vanguard? I think they look more classy, if a bit bland.

USA_Idol

I think the JDM Vanguard's nose is even uglier than the one on the RAV4.  Then again, I'm not a huge fan of Toyota's current design language in the first place.

Bah. It still looks better than the CR-V.

Depending on price, that could be a good deal.

nickdrinkwater

I actually think it looks pretty decent.  I've always hated the RAV4 interior though.

I believe the red V6 badge is a symbol of the provacative kineticism and infectious charisma that is at the core of every Toyota.

Coincidentally I heard Doraville Assembly, the plant that made the Uplander and Montana SV6, closed last Friday.

It's still ugly, cheap looking and boring. It's probably the only Toyota product I find appealing. It's still functional, huge and exceptionally efficient, abeit expensive.

I, briefly, considered the RAV4 when looking to replace my wife's focus.  However, apart from the unappealing looks, feature for feature it really didn't compare well to many of the others in that category; especially only having a 4spd. auto with the I4 engine whereas others had CVT, 6spd. and 5spd.  Valuewise, it just didn't measure up.
