What will happen to the UAW once the host organism dies?

I hope tech workers never unionize. Success in technology is predicated on exponential growth in productivity through building successive layers of new tools and abstractions. I would have killed myself if I was held back by a union that said "NO THANKS WE'LL STICK WITH COBOL" (old crap programming language dating back to the 50's)

LOL - classic Toyota Production System in action. Just goes to show that Detroit knows how to efficiently and cost-effectively build cars, but the UAW simply won't let them.

One aspect not touched on in the video is that modernized manufacturing methods; whether it's the precision and speed of robots, or the flexibility of multi-mode lines, let engineers design better and more cost-effective product.

Tech workers? Look no further than SPEEA, the engineering/technician union at Boeing. Those engineers are universally chided as the lowest paid and worst performing.
