The fuel economy isn't that good, and it looks like crap.  I hope it's cheap.

To gauge people's reactions. People rag on a "good" (relative term) chinese car. I wanted to see if it would get a better reaction if it didn't have the stigma of being Chinese.

Afford what? Chery is rolling in dough. When your CURRENT lineup is all clones, there's virtually no developmental costs. What Chery is doing is taking the funds from the clones and putting it towards developmental costs of an entire fleet of new models. Spyshots prove this. Their new cars actually look decent. The DR marque I suspect is a guise for Chery to test the waters of the western market without the stigma of being Chinese. They want to offer their *best* model, and see what happens, so they (as well as other Chinese automakers) can learn from their mistakes and improve.

Well, there's a lot of learning to be done if this is their best model.
