I'm anticipating that its sister the Prius will have a similarly goofy center stack.

Vomit.
It will sell like hot cakes in Middle America. Pure vomit. Tarted-up Corolla is it!

What a bland, flat-sided shitbrick.

It's weird. It looks like a Lexus, then it looks like a Toyota. Like parts of the interior look Lexus like, then you see stuff that should be in the Prius or a Corolla. Same with the exterior. I'm sure it'll sell like hotcakes if they price it in the 30's to 40s though.

We get the Toyota Avensis in Europe and this thing looks like one with a "Lexus" badge upfront. How exciting.

WARNING: This is not a Lexus HS250h, this is a Toyota Avensis  :wtf:

Hell, the cockpit of the Avensis looks even better too!

By the way, more LARGE photos of this monstrosity.

Interior pictures - wow, looks mega cheap. I am not bashing Lexus here, but this cockpit looks like crap. Check out the lack creativity on the innerside of the rear doors. It has Toyota written all over it.

So you're telling me this new Lexus sedan is based on the same platform as the $17,000 Scion tC?

I guess the $40,000 Chevy Volt won't be the only overpriced economy car out there based on a cheapie.

The tC is based on the old Avenesis. Besides, I always thought the Avenesis was a sharp looker.

This however, is not.

No, he's saying it looks like the Avensis. It's based on the Prius.

The bottom half of the center stack vaquely resembles the bow of an aircraft carrier.

At least when Mercedes or BMW stick some overly complicated, useless "consolidation" of features in their cars, they manage to make the controls attractive.

Why didn't they just make a hybrid version of the ES350?

This entire car is a camel-toe - an awkward public intrusion of the vagina by unforgiving fabrics. It deserves just as much Internet-based contempt as would Miley Cyrus if she stepped out with half a metre of polyester stuck in her netherparts.

Looks like a Chinese knockoff of an IS 250

People seem to prefer something unique, and it's more distinctive.

Plus it means they can go for aerodynamics over styling without compromising a gas-powered car, and it means they don't offer a 4-cylinder in the ES.

Well, this "people" would rather have an attractive hybrid.  And the ES could easily be modified to accept the Camry Hybrid's powertrain.  They are (basically) the same car, after all.
