I can't say I've regretted selling any of my cars, because I always replaced them with something better than what I had before.

I kind of wish that I still had my Civic.  And though I don't miss my Ranger, I do miss having a truck.

I hope you treat your future wife better than you treat that poor Protege.

If you're going to regret giving up the Mini, why get rid of it?

I will, as long she does what she's told.

The Proteg? has been a damn good car, and I do like it.  It's just got some quirks.

I can hear you say something similar about your wife -- She's a good wife, who takes good care of me, but that chick I see at the office is really hot.....

I wish I could say that, but there were definitely some cars I got rid of because I didn't have the place to keep them, repair them, or I was just too stupid to realize what I had at the time.  In order of regret (largest first)

1964 VW camper
1969 Mustang
1971 Super Beetle
1964 Impala
1988 Trans Am
1973 Super Beetle
1969 Corvair
1976 VW Rabbit

I may some regrets about the other 10-15 cars and trucks, but not enough to say I preferred one over the other.

There is a great place in Charlotte (you're there right?), that caters to VW restoration and parts.  I've dealt with them for parts on my '78 camper.  It is called Vintage Volkswagen Specialists.  Nice people and their prices are fair.  If they follow their usual practice, they will shut down for six or eight weeks in the summer to "go have fun".  The guy I dealt not only restores VW's, but is also a geology professor at UNC-Charlotte.

I am sorry, we gave away the Polo. It ran well, but was pretty done anyways. In its last months the cental console broke off, the dampers were done and the timing belt was 17 years old. But now that I live downtown without a garage it would be more practical than the Golf. It's way smaller, I wouldn't get pissed off that it only gets dirty and his hardly driven and most important: without beeing lowered and having spoilers it would be easier to climb sidewalks to park.

Right now I use the Golf, but when I am a bit more accomodated downtown I'll park it at my parent's so my mother can use it, and I'll take it when I need it.

I am still not sure, if I'll buy a new beater. I actually don't need a car, then again it's a great feeling to have one right in front of the appartment.
